Women's Day is celebrated globally on 8 March every year in honor of their remarkable contribution to our society. To mark the day a seminar was organized on the theme for this year's Women's Day "DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality" at G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar on 9th March 2023. The theme aims to emphasize the importance of technology in bringing gender issues to light.
Celebration of the day was commenced by the lecture of Dr. Kulbir Kaur (Gyneacologist) PCMS Raikot. She explained the inspiring role of women around the world to secure women's rights. She also emphasized on steps to be taken for women hygiene
Following that Simran Sidhu, student of B. Pharmacy 6th semester presented poetry dedicated to the role of women in society. Miss. Shalini, student of D. Pharmacy First year delivered the speech on the topic that how voices of many women go unheard and continue to be dominated from securing their rights and realizing their full potential. She explained that Woman is the power to create, nurture and transform!
The programme was continued with the very expressive song by Mr. Jatinder Singh, student of B. Pharmacy 6th semester who detailed the importance of women to build a society and their fundamental rights.
Second lecture was delivered by Dietician Deepti Arora from Ludhiana on Nutrition, Diet and Stress Management.
Principal Dr. Satvinder Kaur addressed the audience and high lightened the contribution of women in every phase of life. She also highlighted that today, women across the globe actively participate in politics, education, social work, corporate, sports, IT, research & development, innovation diverse fields, and have left their footprints.
At the end of the programme Dr. Satvinder Kaur thanked and honored the speakers.
To commemorate the 121 st birth anniversary of Professor Mahadeva Lal Schroff and to recognize
his contribution in establishing Pharmacy Education in India, G.H.G Khalsa College of
Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar celebrated the National Pharmacy Education Day on 6 th March 2023.
To mark the event an awareness camp was organized by the students. Students along with
teachers visited Manukhta Di Seva Society at Hassanpur, Ludhiana. The Awareness Camp came
out as a bright opportunity to reach out to general public and Patients at the society. Students
made them aware about the Pharmacy Profession, Role of Pharmacist in Healthcare, Medicare,
Drug Discovery, safe use of Drugs and importance of cleanliness and general hygiene.

patients and their relatives at Manukhta Di Seva Society Hassanpur, Ludhiana and to make them

A one day trip of B. Pharmacy 1 st year, 2nd year, 3rd year, 4th year and M Pharmacy was organized on 3 rd March, 2023. Republic Day is celebrated on 26 January. The Nation is celebrating its 74th Republic day today with the theme of 'Jan Bhagidari'. G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar organizes Poster making and Declamation contest to mark Republic day on 25 January 2023 for its students.Students from B.Pharm and D.Pharm encourage with their concept of Jan Bhagidari (People's participation) which implies the role of collective in implementing policies and guide us about our duties as citizens of India.
National Youth Day is celebrated on 12 January and is also known as Rashtriya Yuva Diwas. The day is observed to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, one of the greatest philosophers and spiritual leaders. Red Ribbon Club of G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar organizes Poster making and Paper reading activity to mark National Youth Week from 13th January to 19th January 2023 for its students. Principal, Dr. Satvinder Kaur spoke on the importance of the day and encouraged them to learn from the life of the great revolutionary and freedom fighter - Swami Vivekanada. She motivated students to adopt good role models and work hard for national development and unity.
Red Ribbon Club of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Pharacy Gurusar Sudhar organised Awareness Rally in Sudhar bazaar area and Poster making competition on World AIDS Day to aware the masses for Drugs, Blood donation and AIDS on December 1, 2022. Dr. Anu Jindal flagged off the rally. Ms. Jasvir Kaur, Mr. Rajmeet Singh, Ms. Neelam Singla, Dr. Parneet Kaur and Faculty members were present in the awareness program.
61 st National Pharmacy Week is being celebrated all over India on the Theme : "India : The Pharmacy of world". To create awareness among the general public and the students about the contribution of India as Pharmacy in world, 61 st National Pharmacy week observed on 17-19 th November 2022 at G. H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar. To mark the event various activities like, paper reading contest, Poster making competition and rangoli competition relating to the theme of this year were organized. There was a very active participation by the students on the theme. Principal, Dr. Satvinder Kaur addressed the students and make the students aware about their responsibilities as Pharmacists and role of India in world as Pharmacy. At the end of the celebration prizes were awarded to the winners of various activities
To observe the month of November as "Month of Prevention of Substance abuse" and to
create awareness among the students against drugs, a seminar was organised at G.H.G Khalsa
College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar on 21 st November 2022 by the students of B. Pharmacy and
D. Pharmacy. The students were made aware about drug addiction, consequences, harmaful
effects on body and brain. Manjot Singh, student of B. Pharm 3 rd year highlightened the different
facts about drug addiction and preventive measures.

An essay writing contest and drawing competition was organized on 4th November as part of the
Vigilance Awareness Week 2022 was jointly observed by the Pharmacy College Club and Red
Ribbon Club
The theme of this year's celebration is '"Corruption-free India for a Developed Nation"' and the
contest was held at GHG Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar as part of the celebration.
Principal Dr. Satvinder Kaur explained the concept of vigilance to the students and underlined its
importance in the development of the nation.
The objective of the programme was to encourage the stakeholders to support the initiatives in
fighting and preventing corruption besides raising public awareness on the perils of corruption
and spreading awareness among students on establishing a "corruption-free" India.

Jaismeen Kaur (B. Pharmacy 5 th semester) won the second prize and Bawanpreet Kaur ((B.

On the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel 'NATIONAL UNITY DAY' or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was celebrated by the Red Ribbon Club of G.H.G.Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sudhar. To mark the event Elocution and Poster making competition was organized. A documentary film on the life of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was shown to the students. G.H.G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy secured Second Position in Vaar Singing competition & Group Shabad and third position in Folk Song in IKGPTU Zonal Youth Festival 2022 at Gulzar Group of institutes, Khanna
Poster making competition was organized on 15 Oct 2022 for induction program of
1 st semester students. The theme for the same was "Mental Health and Well
Being". Students made posters depicting very thoughtful insights on the theme.
The posters were very informative. One could see and feel the enthusiasm that the
students had in their presentation. This activity was organized to explore and
encourage creativity in students and offer them a platform to showcase their skills.
It inspired them to think and work creatively in order to promote artistic
excellence. Their efforts and initiative was appreciated by one and all. The final
judgment was made by the Principal, Dr. Satvinder Kaur. The winners of the

G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sudhar has organised a rangoli competition of B.Pharmacy -I Sem students on the theme"Society Health and Well Being" in lieu of Induction Programme. Competition was evaluated by Dr. Parneet Kaur. Amit Verma and Suraj got 1st position, Mehak Sharma and Vridhi Dhawan got 2nd position, Rohan and Niranjan got third position and Vishal and Gagan got consolation prize. All students enjoyed a lot.

The students carrying banners with the theme 'Pharmacist United in Action For a Healthier
World' and placards with slogans 'avoid self medication', 'be aware of wrong medication', 'right
drug is a right choice', 'always take the right type of drug at the right time', 'always extend a
helping hand to the HIV affected people' etc marched through the main thoroughfares before
returning back to the starting point.
G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sudhar, has organized a Dental Health
Screening Checkup Camp on Sep 23, 2022 to celebrate World Pharmacist Day with theme
'Pharmacist United in Action For a Healthier World' which falls on Sep 25, 2022 every year.
A team of 15 doctors from Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Dental College and Hospital
visited the college. They made the students aware regarding dental health and hygiene.
Moreover, thorough checkup of all the students was done. More than 100 students and faculty
members participated in the camp.
Principal Dr. Satvinder Kaur appreciated the students. This camp was concluded with
felicitation of the team of doctors.
Logo and slogan competition was organized on the occasion of "World Pharmacist Day" on 23 rd Sept 2022. The theme of the competition was "Pharmacist United in an action for a Healthier World". More than 30 students participated. In 'logo designing competition' Priya Mishra (B. Pharm. 3 rd Sem.) bagged 1 st position, Karan Goyal (B. Pharm. 3 rd Sem.) stood 2 nd and Minu Prasad (B. Pharm. 3 rd Sem.) was awarded 3 rd prize. In 'Slogan writing competition' Ashish Kumar (D. Pharm. 2 nd year) and Sukhpreet Kaur (B. Pharm. 3 rd Sem.) stood at 1 st position, Harshal and Mehakpreet Kaur (D. Pharm. 2nd year) got 2 nd position and Rupinder Kaur (B. Pharm. 7 th Sem.) bagged 3 rd position. Amisha Kalra (B. Pharm. 7 th Sem.) got consolation prize. Dr. Satvinder Kaur Professor and Principal and Dr. Anu Jindal Professor were the judges. They congratulated the participants for excellent endeavor and motivated them to participate in such competitions in future. Winners were awarded with certificates.
A tree plantation drive was held in the college premises on 23-09-2022 for celebration of World Pharmacist Day. The duel objectives of this drive were to enhance the tree cover on the campus and to sensitize the students towards importance of trees. In this event, students were made to plant a tree each at the designated place. They were given information about the name and type of tree, colour of its flowers, its blooming season and about what are they expected to do to take care of it. A total of 20 saplings were planted in and around the campus such as Burma neem( Melia composita), kaner ( Nerium oleander), chandani (Ervatamia divericata), Tecoma stans, Gulabi tun (Cedrela toona), Ambari ( Hisbiscus variegata) and Shisham ( Dalbergia sissoo). The event was organized by Dr Manpreet Kaur (Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacognosy) and Mrs. Rajwinder Kaur (Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacology).
On the occasion of World pharmacist's Day on 25th September, 2022, the staff members
of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar has organised "general awareness
program about common diseases" at village Abbuwal, which has been adapted by the college.
Women of the village were apprised about the common diseases and contribution of
pharmacist in uplifting the society. They were apprised of self care and hygeine. They
participated with vigor and enthusiasm in this awareness campaign held by the college. Towards
end, refreshment was given to all the ladies gathered there. The Principal and Professor
Dr. Satvinder Kaur admired all the teachers for their wonderful endeavour and also motivated
them to hold such program even in future. Team from college also thanked and honoured the
village Sarpanch Sardar Harvinder Singh to help us organize the awareness session in the village
Abbuwal.
Pharmacy College Club, G. H. G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurursar Sadhar celebrated Teachers Day on 5th September 2022. Students presented their views about the day through speaches, songs and poems. Fun games were also organised to celebrate the day. Our college, G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy has celebrated indepenence day on 13-08-2022. The Day marks the anniversary of national independence from the British Empire on 15th august 1947. Furthermore, it is the most auspicious day for the people of India because India becomes independent after lots of hardships and sacrifices of the brave Indian freedom fighters.
In view of Independence day, GHG Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sudhar, recited National Anthem in two weeks online Faculty Development program entitled " Exploring Multidisciplinary Avenues in Pharmaceutical Education and Research" and organized a core lecture entitled "Our Nation Our Pride" by Dr Harpreet Singh, Principal, GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sudhar.

Online workshop on "Intellectual Property Rights: Prospects and career Opportunities", was organized on June 23, 2022 by Entrepreneurship and Placement cell of college. The speaker Sh. Raj Kumar Meena explained about various prospects and career options for students in the field of writing/filing of Intellectual Property Rights.
Farewell Function "SHAM-E-RUKHSAT" for the outgoing was organized at G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar, on Wednesday (22 nd June 2022) to bid farewell to the outgoing class of B. Pharmacy. In the function various activities like Paper dance, Bhangra, Punjabi dance, Modeling and singing were organized. The title of Miss Farewell and Mr. Farewell went to Sameena and Harmandeep Singh Bedi, respectively. Principal Dr Satvinder Kaur addressed the audience. She enlightened the students with her inspirational words and extended her best wishes to them for their bright future.

happiness to parents, teachers and society. G. H .G Khalsa College of Pharmacy organized a
seminar on "Career opportunities after Graduation" for the B. Pharmacy final year
students on 22nd June 2022.
The seminar started with a welcome address by Dr. Sonia. The first speaker of the seminar, Mr.
Anand Kundu, Manager Sales and Marketing from Leeford Healthcare Ltd gave an introduction
emphasizing on the purpose of learning. He also guided the students on the practical use of
education and how it can impact society and even the nation. Second Speaker from Leeford
Healthcare Ltd, Ms Tannu Mahajan (General Manager) briefly described about the company and
different areas to be explored in the company as carreer. The seminar was graced by the presence
of Mr. Jiwan Lal Gupta, Director of Leeford Healthcare Ltd Ludhiana. The seminar concluded

An industry sponsored sophisticated instrument lab is inaugurated at G. H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar. In this lab Leeford Healthcare Limited Ludhiana donated six instruments: Weighing Balance, Digital pH meter, oil-free Vacuum Pump, Diffusion Cell, Morris Water Maze and Y Maze apparatus. These instruments will help the students to achieve exceptional practical knowledge. Mr. Jiwan Lal Gupta, Director Leeford Healthcare Ltd along with Ms Tannu Mahajan, General Manager and Mr. Anand Kundu, Manager Sales and Marketing inaugurated the lab. On the occasion Principal Dr. Satvinder Kaur, Principal Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal Dr Harpreet Singh, faculty members and students were present.
Yoga Day was celebrated on June 21, 2022. Ms Anmol Sarna, Yoga trainer from 'Bollywood Dreams Academy', Ludhiana, explained that regular practice of Yoga will help the students achieve better mental and physical health. After which a few warm up and simple Asanas were performed by the students and the teachers enthusiastically and the importance of these Asanas was explained simultaneously by Ms Sarna. Mr Abhinav Sarna, Yoga trainer, explained the importance of breath in meditation. He encouraged the students to practice Yoga and meditation on a regular basis for a healthy body and mind.
Under the dynamic leadership of Principal, Dr Satvinder Kaur First soccer league tournament was organized at G. H. G Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar from 19th May to 21st May. Four teams participated in the tournament. On the final day, Cheetah Colonels lift the trophy by defeating Crashing Amigos by 2-1.The match was full of excitement and curiosities. Both the teams tried their best to win. First runner up was Phantum Bulls by winning two matches and Second runner up was Dashing Devils. Students, teachers and various staff members from Physical Education department witnessed the program with thunders of applause and cheers to motivate the teams. Certificates and trophies were felicitated among the players. Golden Boot trophy was grabbed by Harpreet Singh by scoring five goals in the tournament.
To balance mind-body connection of students and to instil positive values like teamwork and sportsmanship, G. H. G Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar organizes First Inter-Class Pharmacy Soccer League tournament. This league will be of three days from 19th May to 21st May, in which four teams will be participated. The event was inaugurated by Principal, Dr Satvinder Kaur. On first day two matches were played. In first match Phantom bulls defeated crashing amigos by 2 -0. One goal was scored by Davinder Singh and second goal was scored by Iqbal Singh.In the second match was played between Cheetah colonels and Dashing Davils. Cheetah colonels won by 4-0. Two goals were scored by Harpreet Singh, one goal was scored by Gurkomal Singh and one by Manraj. After this creative and fruitful diversion students will more concentrate on academics

The chief guests of the day were Mr. Sacheen Gandhi, Founder, Healthcopoeia Foundation, New Delhi and Ms. Pooja Arora, Director, Global Research Institute of Pharmacy, Radaur, Haryana. The event was convened by Dr. Satvinder Kaur, Principal, G.H.G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar. Other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Dr. Harpreet Singh, Principal, G.H.G. Pharmacy College Club celebrated Thalassemia Day and Mother's Day Celebration on 9th May 2022. Students presented their thoughts via presentation and motivated fellow students to donate blood for saving lives of Thalassemia patients. In order to expand the healthcare facilities, G.H. G. Khalsa Colleges in association with Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Dental College and Hospital, Sarabha (Ludhiana), inaugurated the Satellite Dental Clinic on Thursday, April 21, 2022. The dental centre's objective is to provide dental checkup facility to the community. The centre will provide the primary dental care, which would help resolve the dental problems of the students and the residents. Dr. Anantjot Kaur would be the in-charge for the centre.

A one day trip of students of all classes of the college was organized on April 2, 2022. Students visited VELITE Pharmaceuticals, Hambran, (Ludhiana). The students were made familiar with formulation, manufacturing and evaluation of all the dermatological products manufactured by the company. Then students moved to the amusement park Wonderland situated at Jalandhar. The trip was accompanied by Ms. Jasvir Kaur, Mr. Jaswinder Singh. Ms. Shaveta, Mr. Meva Singh. Mr. Jasbir Singh and Mr. Rajan.
GHG Khalsa Colleges celebrated the 69th Annual Athletic Meet on March 26, 2022 at Nihang Shamsher Singh Stadium. The NSS Volunteers, NCC Cadets and the students of all the three institutions of GHG Khalsa Colleges performed March Past and gave salute to the Chief Guest, Colonel Navjit Singh Sandhu, Registrar, Maharaja Bhupinder Singh, Punjab Sports University, Patiala. He unfurled the flag and declared the 69th Athletic Meet open. A number of field events like Discus throw; Shot put and Javelin throw were organized on 21st and 22nd March for girls and boys respectively Various events such as different races (100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter, 800 meter, 1500 meter and rely race) Jumps and, Tug-of-War, etc. were conducted .on the final day in which the students participated with a great zeal. Anjali student of D. Pharmacy 2nd year was declared best athlete among girls and Harpreet Singh, student of D. Pharmacy 2nd year among boys. The entire first, second and third winners of the various sports were awarded Medals of Gold, Silver and Bronze respectively. On this occasion, Mr. Amar Jung Singh, Member of Governing Body, National Rifle Association of India was especially honoured with 'Guest of Honour'.

As a mark of tribute in the memory of Former President of College Governing Council, Late. Mr. Bakhtawar Singh Gill, a commemoration day was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm by Guru Hargobind Khalsa Colleges, Gurusar Sadhar on March 17, 2022. An inter-college Gurbani Gayan competitions, free medical checkup and blood donation camp were also organized. After the bhog of Akhand Path Sahib started at Nihang Shamsher Singh Hall of the college, the students of the Department of Music entertained the sangat with Gurbani kirtan. Later Gurbani Gayan competitions were conducted in which teams from different colleges participated. The team of Guru Hargobind Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana, the team of Master Tara Singh Memorial College, Ludhiana and the team of Ramgarhia Girls College, Ludhiana, got the first, second third positions respectively. Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Gujarkhan Campus, Ludhiana and Guru Hargobind Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar secured the fourth and fifth places respectively. In the individual section, Jaspreet Kaur, Ramgarhia Girls College, Ludhiana achieved the first position, Simrandeep Kaur, Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Gujrkhan Campus, Ludhiana got the second and Jasleen Kaur, Master Tara Singh Memorial College, Ludhiana secured the third place. The Chief Guest, Dr. Charankamal Singh and all the Guests were welcomed by the Principal of GHG Khalsa College, Dr. Harpreet Singh. In his address, Charankamal Singh said that the real religion is the social service and Mr. Bakhtawar Singh Gill earned this true religion in his lifetime by making invaluable contribution in the society through these educational institutions. In the free medical checkup camp, the teams of Dr. Harpreet Singh (M.S. Surgery), Dr. Avinash Jindal (M.D. Medicine) and Davinder Singh (M.D. Orthopedic) examined 253 patients and provided free medicines to those in need. The Blood Donation Camp was set up under the leadership of Dr. Sahil Basal in which 64 students of the college contributed by donating the blood. The winners of the competition and other service personnel were honoured with trophies.

GHG Khalsa Colleges organized a seminar on Women Empowerment on March 08, 2022 at GHG Khalsa College Gurusar Sadhar (Ludhiana). At the beginning, the Guest Speaker, Mrs. Harjot Kaur Gambhir, Managing Director of 'Delicious Bites' Pvt. Ltd. was welcomed with bouquet by Principal of GHG Khalsa College, Dr. Harpreet Singh, Principal of GHG Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Dr. Satvinder Kaur and Principal of GHG Khalsa College of Education, Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha. In his address, Dr. Harpreet Singh highlighted the pivotal role of women in the society. Mrs. Harjot Kaur shared her life experience of being an entrepreneur in her lecture. She threw light on the woman's sense of self - worth and ability to determine her own choices. Dr. Pargat singh Garcha, in his speech, encouraged the students to come forward and pursue their desired goals and support the other girls to achieve theirs as well. Dr. Satvinder Kaur presented a vote of thanks and marked the contribution of women in every phase of life. The convener of event was Ms. Shikha Jain. The stage was conducted by Ms. Vishavpreet Kaur. A Poster Making Competition was also organized on the theme of 'Women Empowerment'. These scientists, with their discoveries, have made India a renowned nation. Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman, also known as CV Raman, is one such prominent figure in science and technology. National Science Day, observed on February 28, marks the discovery of the Raman Effect, in the year 1928. It is being praised each year to generally spread a message about the Importance of science utilized as a part of the everyday life of the general population. This day is celebrated to show all the activities, endeavors and accomplishments in the field of science for human welfare.

He did bachelor of Pharmacy from G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy, MBA from Sikkim, Manipal and then he did master diploma in Yoga and Naturopathy. He is not only the renowned personality but our alumnus too. He provides various services like- lifestyle therapy Naturopathy and Pharmacotherapy, lifestyle disorder diagnosis and management. He cured and helped more than 10,000 patients. He is an inspiration for us and helps us to understand the power of naturopathy and yoga. This webinar was attended by Respected Principal Dr. Satvinder Kaur, all the staff members, B. Pharmacy all year students, M. Pharmacy students and many others. More than 500 participants attended this webinar. Dr. Anuja Chopra welcomed Acharya Dr. Lokesh Sharma before starting of his presentation. In this webinar Dr. Lokesh Sharma discussed about the various lifestyle disorders and the reasons because of which these disorders are occurring in our body and making our lives little complicated. He discussed about the Integrated Healthcare means-diagnosis, treatment, follow-ups and inputs. Then he discussed about the obesity and its symptoms. On the other hand, he explained us about the vata, pitta and kapha. He also helped us to understand about the hormonal issues and related disorders. He also said that we should take balanced diet and should track our diet on regular basis to reduce the risk of any disorder. In the end he explained us about the importance of good diet and yoga. The webinar was about for one hour.

Dr. Mondar Bodas is an eminent and renowned personality. He is working as Solution Consultant at Elsevier Pharma & Life Sciences Solutions and Principal Investigator at BMS-Biocon Research Centre Syngene International. He has also served as Senior Research Scientist at Ranbaxy Healthcare. He has won Silver medal in Reciting 700 Bhagwat Gita Shlokas. He has approximately 7 patents and 13 publications to his credit. He has attended various International and National Conferences and Symposiums.

He said that these tools are developed by Elsevier can be integrated into education and research work flows which will help the faculties and researchers to improve their efficiency and quality of research. He then explained the correlation of different fields of Pharmacy with these tools. He then discussed about various Challenges faced by Researchers in R&D. He then briefly explained the role of Elsevier Life Sciences in Drug discovery through various tools. Several tools were discussed in brief by the Speaker during his presentation. It was about one and half hour.

Our college, G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy has celebrated Republic day on 25-01-2022. The day marks the sovereignty of the country, as on this day in 1950, the constitution of India was adopted. On this day the spirit of patriotism is celebrated in whole country. In 2022, India is celebrating its 73rd republic day.
Significance of this day is that it completes the country's transition to a sovereign republic.
GHG Khalsa College Gurusar Sadhar (Ludhiana) celebrated Lohri festival with the bonfire at college campus with great fervour and zeal on 13th January 2022. Everybody offered sesame, peanuts, rewari, and jaggery to the bonfire. Principal, Dr. Satvinder Kaur extended her warm wishes to everyone. In her address, she said that although traditionally Lohri is celebrated at the birth of the boys but the college celebrates this festival as 'Dhiyan di Lohri' and inspires to value the girls equally. She further hoped for more success and accomplishments for the institution, faculty and its students. The peanuts and rewari were distributed among the faculty.
National Pharmacy Week acknowledges the invaluable contributions pharmacists and technicians make to patient care in hospitals, outpatient clinics, and other healthcare settings. G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar celebrated National Pharmacy Week, "SPLASH 2021", on this year's Theme "Pharmacist: An Integral Part of Healthcare" from November 18-23, 2021.
The COVID-19 pandemic has presented many challenges to students, educators, and parents. Students have been especially vulnerable to the changes, and there has been a broad impact on their mental health as a result of colleges being closed, physically distancing guidelines and isolation, and other unexpected changes to their lives. The combined psychological pressure caused by the pandemic and the quarantine heightened anxiety and depression, particularly among the students. So this Pharmacy week celebration helped ease "pandemic fatigue" by giving a boost to their mental wellbeing and reconnecting them safely with friends and teachers following all safety measures according to government guidelines.
The objectives of this pharmacy week celebration were:
1. To spread awareness and encourage activities that promote and advocate for the role of the pharmacist and technicians in the healthcare system
2. To help restore the psycho-social well being of the students during the COVID 19 pandemic
3. To develop entrepreneurship skills in the students
4. To provide a platform to the students to showcase their talent
5. To help students to develop creative skills by brainstorming ideas and gain skills in critical-thinking, teamwork and collaboration.
The first day i.e. November 18th, 2021 of the celebration week included various competitions like Rangoli making, Paper reading, Debate, Essay writing and Poster making. Students of M. Pharmacy, B. Pharmacy and D. Pharmacy participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Various stalls of eatables were organized by students.The purpose of organizing the stalls was to encourage creativity, innovation, collaboration and to inculcate entrepreneurial thinking skills. The students earned profits from the stalls. This teaches them financial management skills. Students learnt about investments. The college also supports and promotes the pass out students who are running their own business. One of the college alumnus Mr. Munish Jain who runs his own company Clinsoft was also given the platform to showcase his products and to encourage his sales. Another stall named Kissan tea hut was organized with the purpose of charity for farmer's relief fund. It was a great gesture by the students which reflects their concern for the society. The students were highly encouraged and motivated by this.
Next day of the event, November 22nd, 2021, institute organized a lecture on Personal Grooming by Ms. Ishpreet Kaur from ikaur studio, Ludhiana and Ms. Sonia Chugh. They discussed about image management and its importance for achieving success. This is an opportunity to build students confidence and self-esteem. The image they project is as important as their talent and hard work in making their presence felt. This in turn is helpful preparing students for job placements interviews.
To enhance the general knowledge and professional knowledge, quiz competition was also organized by the institute on the same day. The purpose was to encourage students to look beyond their textual knowledge and to think from different angles. It also aids in the team building process. Quiz was conducted between 4 houses.
The concluding day i.e. November 23rd, 2021, included the cultural function and the prize distribution. The Chief Guest of the day was Mr. Amit Duggal, Assistant Commissioner Drugs, Food and Drugs Administration, Punjab. He inaugurated the event with candle enlightening ceremony. Principal Dr. Satvinder Kaur welcomed the Chief Guest and all the dignitaries.
Various cultural performances like fashion show, play, various dances, giddha and bhangra were performed. Ms. Harshmeet Kaur from B. Pharmacy-III Sem and Mr. Jatin from B. Pharmacy-VII Sem bagged the titles of Ms. Splash 2021 and Mr. Splash 2021. Prizes for the various events were distributed by the chief guest Mr. Amit Duggal and he also addressed the audience and enlightened the students about drug regulatory affairs. He also praised the efforts made by students in making this event a success.
To inculcate creativity in students, 'Diya making' and 'Best out of waste' competition was organized on November 12, 2021. The students enthusiastically participated and prepared beautiful diyas and good models using waste products.
Poster making competition was held as a part of induction program for freshers on 27th October 2021. The theme for the same was Management of Covid 19. Participants made very creative posters in which the points related to the theme were highlighted. Prizes were distributed in the end. First position was bagged by Karan, second by Vikram and 3rd prize was awarded to Adarsh from 1st Sem. Rishabh and Adarsh won the consolation prizes.
To make the Students of B. Pharmacy-Ist Semester familiar with College facilities and rules & regulations of the college, organized Student Induction Program from October 4-21, 2021.The purpose of student induction programme is to help new students adjust and feel comfortable in the new environment, inculcate in them the ethos and culture of the institution, help them build bonds with other students and faculty members, and expose them to a sense of larger purpose and self-exploration. At the start of the induction, the incumbents learn about the institutional policies, processes, practices, culture and values, and their mentor groups are formed. During induction programme different activities like, creative arts like poster making and rangoli was organized. Students visit to Library, Animal house, Botanical garden, Shooting Range, and archery was organized. Students also visited Birth place of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, the Sarabha village. During induction programme students visited Premjit memorial hospital. and Gurudwara Sahib.
Day 1 - Students Introduction
On first day of SIP, Students introduced themselves. Mr. Jaswinder Singh and Dr. Sonia were the in-charge for Section A and Ms. Jasvir Kaur and Dr. Divneet Kaur were in-charge for Section B.
Day 2 - Orientation
Orientation program for newly admitted students was conducted in which students were made familiar with their curriculum and college rules by Ms. Jasvir Kaur, Dr. Divneet Kaur (Section A) and Mr. Jaswinder Singh and Dr. Sonia Singla (Section B).
Day 3 - Visit to Library and Computer lab
Students visited to college library and Computer Lab. Ms. Jasvir Kaur and Ms. Arvinder Kaur explained rules of library. Mr. Rajan (Librarian) made the students conversant with different books in the library In the Computer lab Mr. Davinder Singh made the students conversant with rules of computer lab.
Day 4 - Visit to Botanical Garden
Students visited to Botanical garden maintained by the college. Dr. Manpreet Kaur explained about the different plants grown in the botanical garden.
Day 5 - Visit to Animal House, and central Library
In accordance with the standards of CPCSEA the college constituted well equipped animal house with facility of housing different species of animals Students were taken to the animal house to make them familiar with the maintenance of animal house. Students visited the Central Library maintained by College. Both places were visited with Dr. Amit and Ms. Jaswinder Kaur, who explained the rules of animal house and central library.
Day 6 - Visit to shooting range, archery
Students visited the Shooting range and archery of the college along with Ms. Jasvir Kaur and Ms. Arvinder Kaur.
Day 7 - Visit to Central instrument room and Machine room
College has Central instrument room and Machine room in which a number of instruments have been installed. Students were made aware about the different instruments and machines like tablet rotary machine, tray dryer, dissolution apparatus and hydraulic bench, FTIR, HPTLC etc. by Dr. Anu Jindal, Ms. Jasvir Kaur and Mr. Gurinder Singh.
Day 8 - Visit to Museum
The College has maintained Museum in which specimens relating to Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacognosy have been displayed. Dr. Divneet Kaur explained about the specimens kept, to the students during their visit to Museum.
Day 9 - College achievements
Students were made conversant to the achievements of the college in the presentation form by Dr. Sonia Singla.
Day 10 - Visit to Premjit Hospital
There is a CHC named Premjit memorial hospital. Students visited the hospital with Ms. Jasvir Kaur, Ms. Arvinder Kaur and Ms. Jaswinder Kaur. Students were made aware about the specialists working in the hospital.
Day 11 - Visit to Gurudwara Sahib
Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji visited and stayed in the village Gurusar Sadhar. There is a Gurudwara shib where the Guru Ji stayed. Students were taken by Ms. Jasvir Kaur, Mr. Jaswinder Singh, Ms. Arvinder Kaur and Ms. Jaswinder Kaur to Gurudwara Sahib Gurusar to make them aware about historical places situated nearby college
Day 12 - Lecture on Basic Pharmacy for Beginners
A lecture by Dr. Anu Jindal was delivered to make the students familiar with the basics of Pharmacy.
Day 13 - Lecture on human values
Seminar on Universal Human Values was organized. Lecture on Human values and Ethics was delivered by Ms. Jasvir Kaur.
Day 14 - Introduction to SWAYAM PORTAL
Students were made familiar with the SWAYAM PORTAL by Dr. Amit Goyal.
Day 15 - Hands on training on working of pH meter and colorimeter
Handling and working of pH meter and Colorimeter was demonstrated to the students by Dr. Sonia Singla. Also the applications of pH meter and Colorimeter were explained to the students.
Day 16 - Visit to Sarabha village
To pay the tribute to great freedom fighter who sacrificed his life Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, students were taken to his birth place Sarabha Village. Students paid tribute to Statue of Kartar Singh Sarabha and visited his ancestral home. Ms. Jasvir Kaur, Mr. Jaswinder Singh, Ms. Arvinder Kaur and Dr. Sonia accompanied the students.
Day 17 - Paper reading competition on "DRUG ABUSE"
In order to create awareness among the students against drugs, Paper reading competition was organized during SIP. Students participated very enthusiastically. The competition was organized by Dr. Sonia Singla and Ms. Jaswinder Kaur.
Day 18 - Rangoli making competition
Rangoli making competition was organized during SIP by Dr. Sonia Singla and Ms. Jaswinder Kaur. Students participated very enthusiastically in the event. Prizes were given to the winners.
Day 19 - Poster making competition
Poster making competition on "Management of COVID-19" was organized for the students by Dr. Divneet Kaur.
Day 20 - Singing competition
Singing competition was organised for the students by Ms. Jasvir Kaur and Ms. Arvinder Kaur. Students were encouraged by distributing prizes to the participants.
Day 21 - Talk on given topic in one minute
To conclude the induction programme on the last day, students were given different topics on which they gave their views in one minute. Different topics were given and assessed by Ms. Jasvir Kaur and Ms. Arvinder Kaur.
"Pharmacists Day" is celebrated in order to make the public and health care professionals aware that pharmacists are important members of the health care team, World Pharmacist Day 2021 on the theme "Pharmacy: Always trusted for your health." was celebrated on September 25, 2021, to make the public aware about best use of services of Pharmacists in order to improve patient's quality of life. A virtual talk on Pharmacovigilance by Dr. Vir Vikram, Clinical Pharmacologist and Head of Dept. of Pharmacy, Deep Hospital, Ludhiana was arranged to make students aware of the various aspects of pharmacovigilance and role of Pharmacist
POSHAN Abhiyaan is the Government of India's flagship programme to improve nutritional outcomes for children, adolescents, pregnant women and lactating mothers by leveraging technology, a targeted approach and convergence. Under this programme, every year the month of September is celebrated as POOSHAN MAAH. Pharmacy College Club Celebrated POOSHAN MAAH and pledged to spread awareness among the fellow students. Under this an interactive video was shared on 24 September 2021 on college youtube channel. Mr Rohan Pal, B. Pharm 7th Sem Student was creator of the video. He highlighted the alarming situation of nutrition status of India, where our country stand in global hunger index, what contribute to ignition of Poshan Abhiyaan, and how this abhiyaan has grown to the present status. He discussed the guidelines specified by the Ministry of Health, Government of India for special population which includes, children, adolescents, pregnant women and lactating mothers.
Pharmacy College Club celebrated virtual Teachers Day on 5th September 2021. Club Members prepared and shared e-greetings to all the respected teachers to acknowledge their contributions in reshaping the dreams and aspirations of students.
The National Nutrition Week is observed in India from September 1 to 7, 2021 to create awareness in students about good nutrition and health. The week is observed to make people understand the importance of nutritional and adaptive eating habits so that they can maintain a healthy lifestyle.
National webinar on scope of Clinical Research and its Associated Domains in collaboration with CLINI India was organized on August 27, 2021 to make students aware about career in Clinical Research and Its Associated Domains. The lecture on "SCOPE OF CLINICAL RESEARCH AND ITS ASSOCIATED DOMAINS" on the most booming industry, Clinical Research, Pharmacovigilance, and associated domains was delivered by Mr. Vishal Chaudhary. He explored the different components of clinical research and clinical trials. He also explained the importance of clinical research in different domains. About 125 candidates participated in the webinar.
On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandan, Pharmacy College Club organized rakhi making competition on 21st August 2021. Several students participated in the competition. The winners were declared and awarded with appreciation certificates.

G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy observed 75th Independence Day (15th August 2021). To celebrate this day, patriotic song singing competition was organized virtually. Students of B. Pharmacy and D. Pharmacy participated in the event. As a part of the central government's initiative "Aazadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav", a number of students participated in rashtargan and celebrated this Independence Day in a unique and creative style. The teaching and non-teaching staff participated in national anthem to mark the day.
G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar Ludhiana organized Online Webinar on NEP 2020: Multidisciplinary & Holistic Education on 11th August 2021. The webinar was presented by Dr. Manu Chadda from G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education Gurusar Sadhar. Major points discussed in the webinar include challenges in the current higher education system, institutional restructuring and consolidation, major problems faced by higher education system and key changes to the current education system. Around 50 Students and 15 faculties participated in the webinar to know about NEP 2020.
Virtual International Conference on "OPTIMIZING RESEARCH FOR TOMORROW'S THERAPEUTICS INCLUDING COVID-19" (GHGKCP-CON) was organized by G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy, GurusarSadhar, Ludhiana, India in collaboration with APTI (Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India) Punjab state branch on June 30. 2021. GHGKCP-CON Virtual International Conference is a forum to bring together business people, researchers, scientists and industry professionals to discuss innovative ideas and diverse topics on drug discovery. One-day conference was held through web by zoom platform. Hundreds of attendees, paper presenters, keynote and tutorial participants, students have benefited in many ways from this conference. More than 100 scientific papers were presented by authors from 04 countries. 06 Invited, Keynote and Tutorial Speakers from different countries addressed to audience and shared knowledge and experiences on different pharma topics.

One week online FDP on "Latest trends in Pharmaceutical Product development and innovation" was conducted by G.H.G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy on June 14-19, 2021. The event was inaugurated by Prof. V.K Kapoor (Prof Adjunct). The welcome note was given by Dr. Satvinder Kaur Professor & Principal GHG Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar. Various experts from reputed institutes were invited as speakers. They enrich the audience with their valuable and informative knowledge on Pharmaceutical product development and the lectures were really very informative and research oriented. The first virtual cultural event (Talent Hunt) of B. Pharmacy first year students of G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar was held on June 12, 2021. This event is generally organised every year on September 5, after start of new session but due to the pandemic situation and according to the Government guidelines, faculty members and students of B.Pharm first year organized this cultural event over an online platform so that students canshowcase their hidden talent. This year also, students were really excited for this event. Students participated in different activities like Dance, Photography, Singing, Poetry, Best out of waste, Painting and a lot more fun activities. The event started with a warm welcome speech by Jaismeen. Niharika, Jaismeen and Gaganpreet handled the anchoring and students showed their talent in a very beautiful manner. Students and teachers also enjoyed the fun activities like riddles, guess the movie and tongue twisters. Then students displayed their paintings and beautiful clicks and it was quite impressive to see the different talents of students. Principal, Dr.SatvinderKaur addressed the students and congratulates the students and members of cultural committee to organize such an event and encourage them to organize these types of events in future also. The event was concluded by the thank you speech by Muskan.

Every year, World Environment Day is observed on June 5. This day is celebrated to encourage awareness and environmental protection. The theme of 2021 World Environment Day was Ecosystem Restoration. Pharmacy College Club organized virtual poster making competition on the same theme. Students participated with great enthusiasm. The winners were awarded with appreciation certificates.
Laboratories play an important role in any institution since they serve as nodal points research and testing. As such, all-round smooth functioning of labs is of utmost significance in ensuring quality education. In view of this, G.H.G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana (Punjab) organised this Two-Day Skill Enhancement Workshop for Laboratory Assistants in campus under the supervision of Principal Dr. Satvinder Kaur.
Laboratory assistants from all laboratories participated in the Workshop from 24th to 25th May 2021. The Inaugural Ceremony on 24th was graced by Dr. Satvinder Kaur.
In the First Session after the Ceremony, Dr. Sonia Singla delivered a talk on calibration of glassware and hands on training on standardization of solutions. She also told about Laboratory Safety focusing on handling hazardous chemicals, she emphasized that chemicals like mercury should be used with utmost care and precaution in labs. She also underlined the use of appropriate personal protection equipment, proper storage and disposal of chemicals.
She also spoke on First Aid and acquainted participants with common injuries at labs and measures to be taken in event of mishaps. Following this, she gave a demonstration on maintenance of Ph meter and colorimeter instruments and applicative training in maintenance of various equipments like potentiometers, conductometer.
On the day of second the workshop featured a demo lecture on computer organization and usage of online platform to attend meetings, a talk on electrical hazards and basic aspects of electrical maintenance. Highlighting some common errors made while operating electrical equipment, practical insights into preventive and safety measures that need to be integrated in every day practice in labs and a session in the rubrics of stock verification. With an amalgamation of theoretical knowledge with practical application, this Workshop aimed at improving the competencies of laboratory assistants and also equipping them with additional skills required to ensure a methodical and sophisticated functioning of labs.
The Valedictory Ceremony was graced by the distinguished presence of Principal Dr. Satvinder Kaur. She said that advancement in skills can help to raise standards of quality education. Reinforcing the objective of the Workshop, Principal madam put forth the need for sophisticated functioning of laboratories across institutions. She emphasized that laboratories should be spaces where leading-edge research is undertaken and for this purpose, all staff members including laboratory assistants must be equipped with advanced skills. The workshop was coordinated by Associate Professor from the Department of Pharmaceutics Dr. Anu Jindal.
International Webinar on 'Citation and Referencing Tools' organized by GHG Khalsa College of Pharmacy on May 20, 2021. Dr. Shivkanya Fuloria, Associate Professor from AIMST University Malaysia delivered a lecture on the topic. The webinar was attended by all the staff members and B. Pharmacy final year students and M. Pharmacy students.
Pharmacy College Club organized several virtual competitions on the theme 'Farm Laws and its Protest' on April 29, 2021. Under the theme Poster (Handmade) and Collage (Handmade) making, e-poster completion, and creative writing (Essay and Poem writing) were organized. Students participated in all the events very enthusiastically. Winners were declared in the first week of May and awarded with appreciation certificates.

Pharmacy College Club celebrated Earth Week from April 22-27, 2021 to recognize the Earth and its ecosystems as humanity's common home and the need to protect her to enhance people's livelihoods, counteract climate change, and stop the collapse of biodiversity. The theme for 2021 is Restore our Earth. Under these celebrations, club members shared interactive videos on college facebook account and college youtube channel. On the concluding day of weeklong celebrations, an in house webinar on 'Let's save Planet Earth' was organized. The speaker for the day was Mr.Rohan Pal (B. Pharm 6thSem student). He very well highlighted the plight of mother earth and the need of the hour to all of us to join hands to save our lovely planet from destruction. The recorded lecture was shared on our college Youtube channel.
The 29th Commemoration Day of S. Bakhtawar Singh Gill was organized collectively with great devotion by all the institutions working under the Management- G.H.G. Khalsa Degree College, College of Education, College of Pharmacy and Dashmesh Public Senior Secondary School on Feb 25th, 2021. Subhash Chandra Bose was a man of great courage and willpower; he was a true son of his motherland; a scholar, a patriot, a leader, an intellectual, a visionary, a socialist, and a warrior. His untiring efforts for the freedom of his nation earned him the greatest and most respected titles of all times, Netaji.

They have shared their all experiences and problems while preparing for GPAT. They discussed all the methods and knowledge regarding cracking the exam. It was very informative session for students.
G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar observed "Vigilance Awareness Week-2020" from October 27 to November 2 with the theme "Vigilant India Prosperous India". The event was organized online due to Covid-19 pandemic Awareness activities like Debate and lecture on Good governance practice and Moral values & ethics marked the observance of the Vigilance Awareness Week. To conclude the week integrity pledge was taken by all the employees and students.
The Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) regularly organizes the National Pharmacy Week (NPW) during the third week of November every year with a theme to promote the profession during the entire year. The main aim of the National Pharmacy Week celebrations is to create awareness amongst the community about the role played and the importance of the pharmacist. This year, the special focus is on the theme of this year "Pharmacists: Frontline Health Professionals"

Transition from school to college life is one of the most challenging events in a students' life. When new students enter an institution, they come into a new unfamiliar environment, and many of them have little knowledge of a college. To make them familiar with College facilities and rules & regulations of the college, G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy organized Student Induction Program from 5th October to 12th October.
1. On 5th October, Orientation of students was done by Mr. Jaswinder Singh. During orientation students were made familiar with their subjects, subject teachers and their curriculum.
2. On 6th October, Students introduced themselves. The activity was done by Ms. Arvinder Kaur
3. On 7th October, Ms. Sonia Singla introduced the students with the facilities provided by the college like Central library, Auditorium, shooting range, archery, Gymnasium and cafeteria
4. On 8th October, Ms Sonia Singla made the students familiar with Library, Computer lab, Machine room, Museum, Animal house and Herbal Garden
5. On 9th October, A lecture by Dr. Neelam was delivered to make the students familiar with the basics of Pharmacy. Ms Shaveta accompanied her during the lecture.
6. On 10th October, A competition was organized By Dr. Divneet Kaur for Rangoli making and Poster making. Students participated in the event very enthusiastically.
7. On 12th October, Seminar on Universal Human Values was organized By Ms. Jasvir Kaur. In the seminar students were made aware about human values and ethics
World Pharmacist Day was created by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) Council at the World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Istanbul, Turkey in 2009. World Pharmacist Day is celebrated on 25 September because on this date FIP came into existence in 1912. The main aim of this day is to encourage the role and activities of the pharmacist in improving health.
The theme of World Pharmacist Day 2020 is "Transforming global health". Pharmacists transforming global health are the focus of World pharmacists Day 2020. On this occasion e-poster making competition was organized at G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar Ludhiana on 25th September 2020. Students of B. Pharmacy and D. Pharmacy participated in the event.
One Week Online FDP on ‘Integrating Technology in Classroom Teaching and Learning’ have been organized by GHG Khalsa Colleges, Gurusar Sadhar on June 26- July 3, 2020 under the motivation and guidance of Chief Patron, S. Manjit Singh Gill and Convenor Dr. S.S.Thind. The FDP aimed to provide the knowledge and skills needed by the teachers to cater to the present day teachers and their learning styles. The Key address was delivered by Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha while the theme of the FDP was elaborated by Dr. Mandeep Kaur Kocher, Vice Principal, Bombay Teachers Training, Mumbai. The resource persons gave hands on training on Google drive, Google calendar, Google forms, Canva, Moodle, Zoom, Active presenter, Google certificates, Kahoot and Mind maps etc. The report of FDP was presented by Prof. Aarti Sharma while the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Satvider Kaur, Principal, GHG Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar. The concluding remarks were delivered by Prof. Jaswant Singh, Principal, GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar.

The department of Pharmacognosy organized a study visit to PAU, Ludhiana on 14-03-2020. Students visited the department of biotechnology in Plant tissue culture laboratory. This study visit was organized for final year students of B. Pharmacy for the practical knowledge of plant tissue culture by Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor of Pharmacognosy. Dr. Ajinder Kaur (in charge of Plant tissue culture laboratory) explained practical knowledge of plant tissue culture.
In the Memory of Late President SardarBakhtawar Singh Gill, Gurbani Gayan Competition, free medical check-up camp and a blood donation camp were organized on February 29, 2020. Teams from a number of colleges participated in the competition. Free medical check-upand Blood donation camp was conducted by a team of doctors of DMC & H Ludhiana and civil hospital, Malerkotla.There were around 353 registrations in the medical camp. The total donation of blood at the camp was 53 units.In the Gurubani Gayan Competition, GHG Khalsa College got first position, Khalsa College, Civil Lines got second position and Gobind National College, Narangwal got third position.

The three days IKGPTU zonal youth festival kicked off at Guru TegBahudur Institute of Management and Technology, Dakha from November 5-8, 2019. An adventurous trip of B.Pharmacy final year and M.Pharmacy first year students to National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI), situated at SAS Nagar, Mohali. On October 10, the B. Pharmacy final year students and M. Pharmacy students were trained about how to browse online journals for their reference and research using Ingenta Connect. On October14,various events like on the spot poster making and rangoli competition, slogan and logo designing competition, creative writing, speech delivery of eminent personalities, and quiz competitionwere held. On the concluding day October 15, there was an inspirational scientific lecture by Professor Indu Pal Kaur (Professor at UIPS, Panjab University Chandigarh) highlighting her learnings, earnings and yearnings in life. She very beautifully highlighted the importance of three D's in life- Dedication, Determination and Discipline. Winners of various competitions were also honoured on the last day.
GHG Khalsa college of Pharmacy, Gurusar-Sadhar celebrated Innovation Day which falls on 15th October, on the occasion of the birthday of renowned scientist Dr. Abdul Kalam, and this day is celebrated as Children's Creativity and Innovation Day. The objective of the `innovation day' celebration was to promote upcoming and untapped talents and to provide the technical education to students.The celebration started on 5th October with an adventurous trip of B.Pharmacy final year and M.Pharmacy first year students to NABI that is National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute, situated at SAS Nagar, Mohali. The students visited the laboratories and "Nobel Prize Museum" at NABI. In the museum, the students were made aware about highlights how Nobel Laureates have made the world a better place - showcasing discoveries and achievements that have saved lives, fed humanity, connected people and protected the planet.Under this celebration, on 10th October, the B.Pharmacy final year students and M.Pharmacy students were trained about how to browse journals for their research using Ingenta Connect, which is world's largest resource for scholarly publications. On 14th October, various events like Poster making, Creative writing, and Quiz competition were held. The students participated enthusiastically and winners were announced.On the concluding day 15th October, there was a beautiful lecture by Professor Indu Pal mam, on her success journey in life, and on paper writing, and extraction of knowledge from papers. Many more events like rangoli making, logo designing, and delivery of speech were also held on 15th october. This celebration ended with concluding remarks by Dr Anu Mahajan, an End Note address by Professor Satvinder Kaur(Principal) and Prize distribution function.

World pharmacist day with the theme "Safe and Effective Medicines For All" was celebrated on September 25, 2019. A general medical checkup camp was organized on the campus to mark the occasion. Students of M. Pharmacy checked the weight, Blood pressure and Sugar level. Almost 100 students were registered for the checkup.

During induction program of B. Pharmacy 1st semester, students and faculty members of G. H. G Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar visited Premjit Memorial Hospital. Students interacted with patients and Doctors. Dr. Ravinder Singh, Eye specialist addressed the students and made them familiar with different aspects of Eye donation. He explained the benefits of eye donation and motivated the students to encourage the public about eye donation. Students and faculty members also paid tribute to S. Premjit Singh.
Fresher's Party and Teachers Day was celebrated on September 5, 2019. The event was hosted by seniors and welcomed their juniors with great excitement. The students displayed their talent in the form of singing, dancing and poetry. Mr. Gursimran Singh (Student of B.Pharmacy-I Semester) and Ms. SumanAngra (Student of M.Pharmacy-I Semester) were adjudged Mister and Miss. Fresher respectively.

The extravaganza of "Fresher's 2k19" started at 11:00 AM concluded with great pomp. After a month of rigorous orientation, foundation course and mentoring sessions, the students of the new batch received some time off to enjoy the fun aspect of their #Life at GHGKCP#. The event was hosted by the seniors who were very excited and welcoming for their juniors. The fresher's put up a great show competing for the revered crowns of Mr. and Miss Fresher. The competition was to be judged on the grounds of the stage presence, smartness, performance and quick wits of the participants. The students displayed their talents in form of singing, dancing, poetry and dressing. Gursimran Singh ( B.Pharmacy 1st Semester) and Suman Angra( M.Pharm 1st Semester) were adjudged Mr. and Miss fresher, respectively. To add on the occasion on teacher's day, students delivered speech and recited poems to express their gratitude towards their mentors. In the end, Principal Dr. Satvinder kaur enlightened the audience with her motivational speech and encourage students to excel in academics to secure their future. She also congratulated students to organize such a great event.

The festival of Teej was celebrated with fervor on August 29, 2019. The audience was captivated by cultural programmes like, Giddha, Folk dances, Folk songs and tappey and was equally delighted by traditional Punjabi dishes like kheer, malpure, tikkies and gol-gappae. Various competitions like dish making, rangoli, mehendi, life style making were organized.
As per AICTE new rules, an Induction Programme of 21 days was organised for newly admitted students of B.Pharmacy-I Semester and D.Pharmacy-II Year from August 1-28, 2019. This programme includes visit to various areas of college and college campus like Animal House, Central Library, Botanical Garden, Shooting Range, Archery, Computer Lab. Students also visited village Abbuwal, Sarabhavillage, Premjit Memorial Hospital, GurudwaraShri Guru Hargobind Sahib Gurusar Sadhar. The students also participated in various competitions like Indoor games, Poster Making competition and Paper Reading competition.
Orientation programme was organized for the students of B. Pharmacy- III, V and VIISemesters and D.Pharm-II Year on July 24, 2019 in the Seminar Hall of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar. During orientation, students were made aware about the curriculum, their fee structure and facilities provided in the college campus. In an effort to spread awareness about conserving groundwater and proper utilization of rain water "Ground water week" has been celebrated from July 16-22, 2019. During the celebration, poster making competition and debate on the topic "Save water, save life" was organized.
G. H. G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar organized an Alumni Meet at college campus for the year 2018 on 23rd December 2018. The programme started with Shabad and followed by the welcome address of Principal. There were nearly 100 alumni gathered and refreshed their old memories. The alumni were excited to bring back their golden days of their college hood. Refreshments and lunch was provided for the entire gathering Principal, Dr. Satvinder Kaur updated the Alumni about the recent developments of the college. She encouraged the alumni that they can act as a bridge between the Institute and the Industry. She also invited the alumni to get associated with the Training and Placement Cell for the betterment of their juniors in terms of Internships, Placements and further Industry Connects.
To create awareness among public about the pharmacy profession and the role of the pharmacist in general.; 57th National Pharmacy week was observed at G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana on 16th-17th November 2018. The theme for this year was: "Pharmacists for a Healthy India. Students of M. Pharmacy, B. Pharmacy and D. Pharmacy actively participated in the celebrations. Various events were organised on the theme, including Rangoli, Paper reading, Dish-making and pharmacy quiz competition. The function was graced by the presence of Dr. H.S. Brar, Registrar G.H.G Khalsa Colleges Gurusar Sadhar. Principal, Dr. Satvinder Kaur addressed the students and motivated them to be active as Pharmacist in their respective societies to give India a healthy and drugs free future. At the end of function prizes were distributed to the winners of various events.
The three day IKGPTU inter-zonal youth festival kicked off at DAV Institute of Management & Technology, Jalandhar on 10th November, 2017. The campus was abuzz with various activities performed by students of different colleges. Students of G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar again carved a niche for themselves by finishing among positions in different events. In music events, Group shabad bagged second and group song Indian stood third. In fine arts category, Cartooning stood first position. Zonal Youth Festival (Central Zone) was organized at Bhutta College of Engineering and Technology in Bhutta village from Oct 25-27,2018. Students from eighteen colleges affiliated to Punjab Technical University showcased their talent during the inaugural day of the Inder Kumar Gujral Zonal Youth Festival (Central Zone) Dr MS Kang, former Vice-Chancellor, Punjab Agriculture University, inaugurated the event.Justifying the theme of the festival - 'Youth against drugs' - speakers, including Kang, former Minister for Technical Education Jagdish Singh Garcha appreciated that most of the performances were aimed at spreading awareness on drugs and channelising their potential in various fields.Competitions in various categories, including Shabad / Bhajan, Indian folk dance, Gidha, international dance, Classical instrument music, classical vocal music, poster making, cartooning, collage making, clay modeling, debate, essay writing, poem writing and quiz.G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana got Ist prize in Group Shabad. 2nd prize in Group Song Indian and 3rd prize in Cartooning.

The recital of Sri Sukhmani Sahib was followed by Kirtan by famous ragi S. Davinder Singh Sodhi Ji. The Kirtan mesmerized the hearts of gathering of more than 500 students,staff. And residents.Principal Dr. Satvinder Kaur paid obeisance and thanked almighty for showering his blessings on the G.H. Khalsa Colleges. She prayed to God to keep his hand on all of the students and staff members so that All must work in positive direction always.'Guru ka Langar' was also served on the occasion.
GHG Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar Ludhiana welcomed new students at "Fresher's party 2018" on Friday. The first year students walked the ramp with confidence and showcased their embroidered ethnic fusion wear. The students gave various dance performances. Gurpreet Kaur (D. Pharm. 1st year) & Sukesh Kumar (B. Pharm. 1st sem.) won the title of Ms. Fresher and Mr. Fresher 2018. Principal Dr. Satvinder Kaur appreciated the efforts of the students and congratulated the winners, and welcomed the new comers. In her welcome address to students, she emphasized on awareness amongst the students about one of the very critical and alarming issues that is Drugs Abuse, and she strongly stated that necessary steps shall be taken to control this life threatening habit of drugs abuse in Punjab.
At the Convocation ceremony held at GHG Khalsa Colleges, the Chief Guest S. Hardeep Singh Puri, Honourable Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Housing and Urban Affairs, Govt. of India, conferred degrees to 962 successful students. S. Harinder Singh Khalsa, Member of Parliament, was the Guest of Honour. The guests were given a Guard-of-Honour and were piloted along by the NCC Cadets. Of the 962 degrees conferred, 684 were awarded to the students of Degree College, 130 to the students of College of Pharmacy and 148 to the students of College of Education. Dr. S.S. Deol, Principal, welcomed the guests and presented the annual report for the session 2017-18, providing a glimpse to the numerous achievements in the academics, sports and cultural arena of the students from the three colleges. While delivering his address, the Chief Guest S. Hardeep Singh Puri, congratulated the students for their excellent scholastic performances. He said that the convocation is a prime celebration in one's life. He laid emphasis onpursuit of dreams powered through core values of empathy, perseverance, kindness, courage and integrity as the building blocks. He appreciated S. Manjit Singh Gill, President, College Governing Council and his dedicated team for their noble efforts. On this occasion, College Alumni Olympian Col. Jaswant Singh was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award. The University position holders were also felicitated. Lt. Gen. I.S. Singha (Retd.), Director, in his concluding remarks said that most students may not have clarity about their ultimate career at this stage but if they remained focused they will certainly find their niche. G.H.G. Khalsa Colleges, Gurusar Sadhar, paid homage to Late Sardar Bakhtawar Singh Gill, Former President, College Governing Council. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr. Harpal Singh Pannu, Professor, Punjabi University, Patiala, who inspired the students to keep faith in God and motivated them to work hard in order to achieve their goals. With the help of expert doctors from Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana a Free Medical Check-up Camp and Blood-Donation Camp were also organized in the deepest and fond memory of S. Bakhtawar Singh Gill. The Camps were inaugurated by Sardarni Mohinder Kaur Gill, President S. Manjit Singh Gill and Sh. Amrit Nagpal, Vice-President, Daynand Medical College, Ludhiana.Throwing a light on Gurbani Gayan Competition and the Camps, Dr.Swaranjeet Singh Deol, Principal, Degree College told that various teams from different colleges participated in this event with great enthusiasm. 104 students donated blood voluntarily and nearly 395 patients underwent medical check-up by a team of expert Orthopaedics, Dermatologists, Gynaecologists and many other specialist doctors from DMCH, Ludhiana. The Camps attracted a number of local residents, the students and the teachers. The patients were given medicines free of cost. An Exhibition of books was also organized by the Sukrit Trust and the Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, Ludhiana. Another major attraction was the 'Dastar bandi Competition' which was possible with special contribution by S. Sohnpreet Singh Jwandha, seeing a display of impeccable turban skills by 30 students. In the Gurbani Gayan Competition, Ramgarhia Girls College, Ludhiana team stood first, Mata Ganga College, Kotta stood second and GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar stood third. In the Individual Category, Mehak of Ramgarhia Girls College, Rosy of Mata Ganga College, Kotta and Gyan Kaur, GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar got first, second and third prize, respectively. Programme started with guest lecture by Prof. Saranjit Singh on "Technical Revolution and Other Newer Development in Pharmaceutical Sciences". The next session was followed by another technical session by Prof. V.R. Sinha on "Counterfeit Medicines". The programme finally ended with poster evaluation by Professor Gulshan Bansal, Punjabi University, Patiala & Dr Manjinder Singh Gill, NIPER, Mohali. Award giving ceremony which was conducted by respective Chief Guest, invited Guests & Principal Dr. Satvinder Kaur. The event was concluded with vote of thanks by Mrs. Anu Mahajan. G.H.G. Khalsa Colleges, Gurusar Sadhar, organised its 67th Annual Athletics Meet here today. The mega event was a joint venture of the three sister institutes - GHG Khalsa College, GHG Khalsa College of Education and GHG Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar. Mrs Lalita Sharma, Regional Director, Sports Authority of India was the chief guest on the occasion. The athletics meet began with the flag hoisting ceremony. A graceful and rhythmic march past, synchronising with the band was performed by the sportspersons and students of the three colleges. The chief guest took the salute of the march past. Various track and field events including races, shot puts, high jumps, athletics, long jump, high jump, potato spoon race, three-legged race, sack race, tug of war, etc were organised during the sports meet. The best athlete declared from pharmacy college Rajdeep Singh (D. Pharmacy) (boys) and Kamalpreet Kaur (D. Pharmacy) (girls). Dr S.S. Deol, principal, GHG Khalsa College, gave a brief account of the sports and academic achievements of the three institutes. Addressing the gathering, Mrs Lalita Sharma congratulated Manjit Singh Gill, president of the managing committee, for following the footsteps of his father, Bakhtawar Singh Gill, and leading the institutes in the same spirit towards excellence in all the fields. Mrs Sharma expressed his concern about how to make balance between sports and study. Sports are important part of student life. Sports make us physically healthy as well as teach us discipline, team work, leadership and punctuality and keep youngsters away from bad habits She also advised students to elect pathway of sports to achieve destination in academics and appealed to the young generation to participate in games beside waste their time in cefeteria and gossips. She also said that children in sports are equally good in academics. A brief cultural programme, including items of bhangra, malwaigiddha enthralled the audience.
An educational tour of D.M.L.T.- 2nd and 4th semester students was organized on dated 24/01/2018 and 25/01/2018 to Pancham hospital Ludhiana. The students interacted with the staff and patients of the hospital. The students have good exposure about actual working of laboratory testing of samples. Students visited all the departments like Cath Lab, Dialyses Department, ICU, CCU, General Operation Theater, Cardiac Operation Theater and Clinical Laboratory. The team of hospital demonstrated to the students about working of instruments.

GHG KHALSA COLLEGE OF PHARMACY, GURUSAR SADHAR students participated in various events and bagged first position in Shabad, second position in poem recitation and Cartooning, third position in Vaar Singing and local vocal.
Three day Zonal Youth Festival was organised in PUNJAB INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY, ALOUR. It was started on 25 Oct, 2017 and concluded on 27 Oct, 2017. On very first day various competitions were held like Folk Song, Vaar Singing, Cartooning, Group Shabad etc. GHG KHALSA COLLEGE OF PHARMACY, GURUSAR SADHAR bagged first position in Vaar Singing. College also got second prize in Cartooning, third prize in Group Shabad and third prize in folk song. Events like Collage Making, Poem Recitation, Vocal Solo, Debate, Poster Making, Elocution were organised on 26-10-17. Our College won first prize in vocal solo, second prize in collage making, third prize in poem and first prize in on the spot painting competition.
National conference on "Challenges and Future Vision in Phytomedicines -An alternate to modern medicine" was organized at GHG Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sudhar Ludhiana on 22nd September 2017 in collaboration with Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP). The event was comprised of lectures by eminent speakers on recent studies in phytomedicines and modern aspects. Dr. Satvinder Kaur, Principal GHG Khalsa College of Pharmacy, welcome the guests and delegates. The chief guest Professor R.K Goyal Vice Chancellor DPSRU, New Delhi addresses the delegates. Professor Saurabh Dahiya (President Haryana state APP) from Lingaya's university Faridabad and Professor Gulshan Bansal from Punjabi University Patiala also delivered their talks with their knowledgeable experiences. Presence of more than 200 delegates of different Institutes of Punjab and surrounding areas made the event successful. Conference includes the poster session where more than 150 candidates presented their research and reviews. Dr.V.K Kapoor Prof. Adjunct, GHG Khalsa College of Pharmacy concludes the occasion with his concluding remarks. Overall the event completed really on a successful end.
G.H.G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar organized its fresher's party for the new entrants of B. Pharm, D. Pharm and D.M.L.T courses on 15 September, 2017. More than 130 new comer students attended the party. Miss Fresher title was bagged by Ms. Simarpreet Kaur of 1st semester and Mr. Fresher title was conferred on Mr. Meharjot Singh. On this occasion, various cultural events like dances, songs and bhangra were organized by the students. Principal, Dr. Satvinder Kaur welcomed the students and extended her wishes to join this esteemed college.
The Teej Festival was celebrated in G.H.G. Khalsa College on 01-09-2017 with fervour and gaiety. The glittering function was inaugurated with exuberant applause by the faculty members and the enthusiastic students. The entire college premises wore a festive look with bright and colourful decorations. The girls turned up in traditional attire & added liveliness to the occasion. A variety of traditional events enthralled the audience. The audience was captivated by the cultural programme consisting of folk dance Giddha, Tappey and Punjabi boliyan and were equally delighted by the traditional Punjabi dishes like gulgule, tikkis, malpurhas and kheer. A variety of stalls displaying bangles, jewellery, purses, cosmetics and mehndi enhanced the festive fervour. The noble gesture of providing free Jalebis by Shri Gulzari Lal Amar Sweets Sadhar famously known as 'Raikoti' was duly appreciated by all. Various competitions like rangoli, Pakhi-making, nala-making, poster-making, dish-making, mehandi, clay-modelling, quiz, folk songs, hair-style & nail-art, embroidery and crochet, best out of waste, related to Punjabi culture were organised. After several rounds of competitions Amandeep Kaur, a student of B.Pharmacy (7th Sem), was adjudged the winner of Rangoli (1st), Best out of waste (1st), Nail art (1st), Poster making (consolation). Taranpreet Kaur student of B.Pharmacy (7th Sem) also bagged 2nd position in rangoli and consolation prize in best out of waste. An exhibition on Punjabi culture & heritage organized by the Department of Commerce and Management was the highlight of the festival. Traditional articles like more than a century old utensils, coins, weapons, & hand written religious books; bagh, phulkari, pakhian, bangles, parandian, charkha, chhajj, chakki, peehra etc. were on display in the Exhibition to elicit knowledge to the students about the tradition rich Punjabi cultural heritage. The winners were congratulated & awarded prizes. The occasion was also graced by the College Registrar Dr. Harjinder Singh Brar; Dr. Satvinder Kaur, Principal College of Pharmacy; Dr. Sarabjit Kaur, Principal College of Education. Dr. Swaranjit Singh Deol, the Principal of the college in his address appreciated the efforts of the girls and emphasized that the festival of Teej is not only a symbol of our cultural heritage but also such celebrations are a way of reviving and keeping the Punjabiyat alive for generations to come.
Many of the ex-students become nostalgic upon their arrival on the campus. Some of them come for the first time ever since they have left the campus many years ago. Similar type of nostalgic behavior was seen in the G. H. G. Lhasa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar, in its 3rd Alumni Meet which was scheduled to be held on Sunday August 20, 2017. It was a gathering of 100 people approximately. The programme was inaugurated with candle enlightening by esteemed principal Dr. Satvinder Kaur and some ex-students followed by welcome note by respected principal. Miss Arshdeep and Miss Diksha, students of B. Pharmacy refreshes the audience with their motivational. Mr. Hitesh, ABM, Intas Pt. Ltd., talked on 'Marketing and Sales'. Mr. Manik, an alumnus of this institution, from Companies Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., also shared his knowledge. From clicking pictures to cracking jokes, ex-students did everything to enjoy. Some had come to the lush green with their spouses. They enjoyed a lot. Everywhere was the atmosphere of chatting and dancing. The programme was concluded with thanks note by Ms. Anuja Chopra.
A Yoga session was held on 04th May 2017 in G.H.G. Khalsa college of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar, Ldh. Esteemed members of Patanjali Yog Samiti, Mr. Sukhwinder Singh, Vice President Mr. Hoshiyar Singh and Mr. Ramesh conducted the session. A talk on importance of Yoga practice, highlighting the benefits of Yoga was followed by demonstration and practice of various Asanas and Pranayams which are helpful to increase concentration, relieve stress and to attain peace of mind. Mr Sukhwinder Singh motivated the students to perform Yoga exercises for the innumerable benefits on the body and mind. It was a very useful and beneficial session for all.

Different cultural activities were performed by junior students. Dr. Satvinder Kaur Principal motivated passing out students for a bright future and success in their life. She encouraged them to work hard to excel in their life. Mr. Paravdeep Singh and Miss Jeevanjot Kaur from B. Pharm. were selected as Mr. Farewell and Miss Farewell respectively. Joint Annual Athletic meet of GHG Khalsa Colleges, Gurusar Sadhar was held on Wednesday, 8 March 2017. Sh. Sukhvir Singh Grewal, Director Training and Curriculum, Punjab Institute of Sports, Chandigarh graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Sh. Sukhvir Singh Grewal and Sh. Manjit Singh Gill, President Governing Council both unfurled the flag. More than 500 students took part in march past. Principal Dr. Swaranjeet Singh Deol welcomed the chief guest & presented colleges' achievement in sports. Students from Degree college, Pharmacy College and B. Ed. College took part in different events of sports. College Gatka & Bhangra team was the main attractions. Winners were honored with medals by chief guest and president of the colleges. 8th March is internationally celebrated as the "International Women's Day". It is an important occasion for all of us to pause for a moment to reflect on ourselves, to appreciate how much has been done and what more needs to be done in the field of gender equality. Moreover, it is the day to acknowledge all the men and women in the world for making this world a better place for everyone to live in. The day was celebrated at G.H.G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy by organising a programme on cancer awareness. With the collaboration of INTAS, Cancer specialists from Mediways Hospital Ludhiana Dr. Satish Jain and Dr. Veena Jain delivered lecture and highlightened the different preventive measures and treatment options for Breast Cancer, Cervical Cancer and other types of Cancers. Faculty and students from G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy, G.H.G Khalsa College and G.H.G College of Education participated in the programme. Principal, Dr. Satvinder Kaur honored and thanked the Speakers and addressed the audience. Then refreshment was distributed among the participants.

A free medical check-up camp and a blood donation camp was organized in the Memory of Late President Sardar Bakhtawar Singh Gill at GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar. The camp was organized under the supervision of Doctors from Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana. An inter college Gurbani Gayan competition was also organized on college premises in the presence of the Holy Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The event was graced by the presence of Sardarni Mohinder Kaur Gill, President Manjit Singh Gill, Secretary Dr. S.S. Thind, and Principals of all the three colleges Dr. S.S. Deol, Dr. Satvinder Kaur and Dr. Sarabjit Kaur. There were around 436 registrations in the medical camp which included people from nearby villages, staff and students. The total donation of blood at the camp was 89 units. The event was ended with distribution of Langar to all the students, staff & guests.
Personality development programme was organized at GHG Khalsa college of pharmacy; Gurusar Sudhar Personnels from Imperial Education made the student conversant with different views on personality development. Students from M. Pharma, B. Pharm, D. Pharma participated in the programme. At the end Dr. Satvinder Kaur address the student and honored the guest.
Students of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar, have brought laurels to the college by grabbing the top board positions in the Diploma inPharmacy-1st and 2nd year examinations of May 2017, the results of which were declared by Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training (PSBTE & IT), Chandigarh. Five students of the Diploma in Pharmacy 2nd year and one student of Diploma in Pharmacy-1st year have their names in the top 20 board positions. All teaching staff congratulated the students for maintaining the tradition of the college by clinching top positions.
NSS Unit of G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar Ludhiana organized One Day Workshop on VISAKA. Mr. Naveen Kumar Manager Indian overseas bank Sadhar branch and Mr. Sumeet Choudhary Assistant Manager Indian overseas Bank Sadhar Branch delivered lectures during workshop on CASHLESS TRANSACTIONS. Students and faculty members from G.H. G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar and Ludhiana Group of Colleges Chowkiman participated in the workshop. Dignitaries from the bank made the students aware about the different parameters regarding banking . During lectures they provided the knowledge about debit card, credit card, master card, visa card, rupay card , e-adhar card, UPI, net banking, online banking, mobile banking and different types of cheques and different types of accounts to the students. They also made the students conversant with different facilities provided by IOB regarding cashless transactions.. They also discussed the merits and demerits of cashless transactions.The students acquired the full knowledge about working of banks. At the end of workshop Mr. Naveen Kumar and Mr. Sumeet Choudhary were honored by Principal Dr. Satvinder Kaur
"The Constitution Day" / "Samvidhan Diwas" was solemnly celebrated at G. H. G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar on 26th November 2016. The day commemorates the adoption of the Constitution of India by the Constituent Assembly on 26th November, 1949. To mark the day, a lecture was delivered by Dr Poonam. Students of D. Pharmacy, B. Pharmacy and M. Pharmacy courses attended the lecture. Dr. Poonam addressed students and made them familiar with the importance of the constitution day. She also explained how the Constitution of India is the supreme law of the nation and how it lays down the framework defining fundamental political principles, powers and duties of Government institutions and sets out Fundamental Rights and the duties of the citizens. At the end of celebration, students and faculty members took a pledge not to involve in violence under any circumstances and have a firm belief on the constitution of the country.
Centre's decision to scrap currency notes of Rs 500 and 1000 denominations was a topic of discussion at IK Gujral Punjab Technical University, Inter- Zonal Youth Festival which was concluded at Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College on Thursday 10th of Nov. An on the spot Painting Competition was also organized on the topic. The day's itinerary included a bevy of cultural, creative and literary events starting with group shabad gyan, Punjabi folk song, light vocal solo, group singing, one act plays and creative writing events were also organized. The function was graced by Vinay kumar Jha, chief commissioner, income tax; and Prem kumar, SDM (west), Ludhiana, who was the guest of honor. In his address, Vinay kumar Jha exhorted students to participate with full zeal and enthusiasm.
Ludhiana: DAV Institute of Engineering and technology , Jalandhar has won overall trophy while the runners up trophy was clinched by CTIEMT at the three day Inter-zonal youth festival held at IK Gujral Punjab Technical University, which was concluded at Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College on Saturday. The Giddha competition was won by DAVIET, Jalandhar, Second position was taken by CTIEMT, Jallandhar, While GHG Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana came Third. Best Dancer, Navneet Nagpal of DAVIET was adjudged best dancer while Simranjot Kaur of KIMT and Anmol of GHG Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana were runners up.
National Conference on "Innovations and Challenges in Pharmaceutical Research" was organized at G. H. G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar (Ludhiana) in collaboration with Association of Pharmacy Professionals (APP). The event comprised of lectures by eminent speakers on recent development in the field of pharmacy profession. Registration of more than 150 Delegates from different institutions of Punjab and outside made the event a great success. The Chief Guest, Prof. P Rama Rao, Dean Academic Affairs, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda delivered the keynote address. Prof B. B. Barik, Jazan University, Saudia Arabia delivered a Lecture on "Nanotechnology enhanced during targeting and Transport across Cell Membrane." Prof V. K. Kapoor, Professor Adjunct, G. H. G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar (Ludhiana) delivered a lecture on "Challenges of the Profession to Meet" and Prof Mohammed Ali from Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi delivered a lecture on "Essential Oils & Aroma Therapy." The event started with recitation of Shabad. The conference included the poster session where large number of delegates presented their research and review papers. Student from various I K Gujral Punjab Technical University affiliated Colleges of Central Zone (Ludhiana & Kapurthala districts) participated in various events i.e. Music, Fine Arts, Theater, Literary events. G.H.G. Khalsa college got the second position in Group Shabad, Vaar Singing and Folk Song and on the spot painting. World Pharmacist Day 2016 with theme "Pharmacists: Caring for you" was celebrated at G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar. To mark the day various banners and posters, portraying various aspects of pharmacy and health care issues, were prepared by students of D. Pharmacy, B. Pharmacy and M. Pharmacy and displayed in the campus. A speech on Responsibilities of Pharmacist was delivered by ArashdeepKaur, student of D. Pharmacy 2nd year. On this occasionDr. GurpreetSidhu (Medical Officer) from Premjit Memorial Community Health Centre Gurusar Sadhar (Ludhiana) delivered lecture on the behalf of DrNeenaPilani (Senior Medical Officer, Premjit Memorial Community Health Centre Gurusar Sadhar (Ludhiana) regarding the importance of a pharmacist and how a pharmacist and a doctor both are essential for appropriate diagnosis as well as correct treatment of any disease. Dr. GurpreetSidhu also made familiar to the assembly to the variousprogrammes available with Govt. Hospitals like Cancer Control Program, Drugs And Cosmetic Act, Intensive Dental Care Program, Food And Drug Administration Program etc. She also provided the knowledge about medication available for dengue fever, chicken gunea and swine flu in the community centre. Under Intensive Dental Care Programme Dr. Gurpreet emphasized on the various factors to be followed for good dental health. Principal, Dr. SatvinderKaur very correctly explained the significance of a pharmacist in the society and the health care team. She also emphasized the importance, role and responsibilities of being a pharmacist and how each one should strive towards achieving excellence in the field both personally and professionally. At the end Principal, Dr. SatvinderKaurhonoured Dr. GurpreetSidhu. The students and members of faculty took the Pharmacist's Oath collectively to remind their role towards the society and health care system.
The Swachhta Pakhwada was observed at G. H. G Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar from 1st Sept to 15th Sept 2016. During the Swachhta Pakhwada various activities were initiated. Painting competition on the Theme: Hygiene and Cleanliness was organized. Harpreet Singh and Neha Koundal bagged first prize. Second prize was won by Mehak and Kashish kumar. Third prize was bagged by Diksha Yadav and Parveen Kumar and consolation prize was won by Vikram Malhotra. Cleanliness drive was initiated from Mata Ganga Girls hostel and led to Guru Hargobind Boys Hostel. College campus was also cleaned and all the unwanted grasses were uprooted from the lawns and gardens of the campus. All activities went in full swing. On the concluding day staff and students have taken Swachhta Pledge. Principal, Dr Satvinder Kaur addressed the staff and students and prizes were distributed to the winners.
The celebration of 'Azaadi 70' at G.H.G. Khalsa Colleges concluded with the recitation of the National Anthem. The poster and sketch making, poem recitation and singing competitions were held. In poster making, Monika, Harmandeep Kaur & Manmeet Kaur; in sketch making, Satnam Singh, Kamalpreet Kaur & Sonia; in poem recitation, Harmeet Kaur, Rajdeep Kaur & Gursimran Kaur and in singing competitions, Inderjeet Singh, Jograj Singh & Varinder Singh got the 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes respectively. Dr. Balwinderpal Singh, Dr. Rajinder Singh, Dr. Gurmeet Singh and Dr. Baljit Singh performed the duty of judges. Dr. S.S. Thind, Secretary of College Governing Council, Dr. Varinder Kaur Thind, Director Development, Dr. Satvinder kaur, Principal G.H.G Khalsa college of pharmacy inaugurated the exhibition of posters and sketches prepared by the students. Dr. Harjinder Singh Brar addressed the audience and put light on the importance of Independence Day. The winners of the various competitions were given away the prizes. In the end, all the students and staff members of GHG Khalsa Colleges paid homage to the freedom fighters for their contribution in the Indian Independence.
Students and staff of G. H. G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar (Ludhiana) celebrated "AZAADI 70" "INDEPENDENCE 70" on 19th August, 2016 in the college campus with a great zeal & enthusiasm focusing on the theme of "YAAD KARO QURBANI", learning about the sacrifices in the freedom struggle. On this occasion, various events like poster making competition, slogan writing competition and patriotic songs on the life and history of icons of freedom struggle were organized. The students and staff of the college also organized a visit to Sarabha village, birthplace of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha to mark the Independence Day. Dr. Satvinder Kaur, Principal of the institution highlighted the importance of the day and reminded the sacrifices made by the thousands of martyr. She also distributed the prizes to the winners of all the events. The AZAADI 70" "INDEPENDENCE 70" function was concluded on 23rd August 2016 by recitation of NATIONAL ANTHEM by the college students at 11:00 a.m. in the college campus. The sweet was also distributed among students as well as staff members.

The Foundation stone of Indoor Shooting Range and Gymnasium Hall of G.H.G. Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar was laid today by Sardarni Parneet Kaur Kairon, Daughter of S. Parkash Singh Badal, Chief Minister of Punjab, and wife of S. Adesh Partap Singh Kairon, Cabinet Minister of Punjab. The Chief Guest Sardarni Kairon was received and welcomed by S. Manjit Singh Gill, President Governing Council G.H.G. Khalsa Institutions, and the office bearers of the Management, the Principals of G.H.G. Khalsa Colleges, and the other distinguished personalities from the area. In a function held in Nihang Shamsher Singh Hall of the Degree College, Principal Dr. Swaranjeet Singh Deol welcomed and apprised the Chief Guest of the various achievements of G.H.G. Colleges. The Chief Guest was honoured by S. Manjit Singh Gill with a shawl and a Momento. In her address Sardarni Kairon praised and complimented the College Magazine GURUSAR" and gave away prizes to University position holders in academics and the sports persons. The first and the second positions holders were given Computer Tablets. The College Gidha and Bhangra teams entertained the Chief Guest by giving wonderful dance performances. Educative lectures on latest banking techniques were organised for all the students from 2 nd to 4 th March. The officials of Indian Overseas Bank, Sadhar branch in their lectures educated the students about net banking, e-banking, study loan and other loan facilities. They also apprised the students of safe use of CREDIT and DEBIT CARDS.

GHG Khalsa Institutes, Gurusar Sadhar, organised its 63rd Annual Athletics Meet here today. The mega event was a joint venture of the three sister institutes - GHG Khalsa College, GHG Khalsa College of Education and College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar. Dr GS Khush, an eminent rice breeder of international fame was the chief guest on the occasion. The athletics meet began with the flag hoisting ceremony. A graceful and rhythmic march past, synchronising with the band was performed by the sportpersons and students of the three colleges. The chief guest took the salute of the march past. Veerpal Kaur, veteran athlete of the degree college, performed the oath- taking ceremony following which the chief guest declared the 63rd Annual Athletics Meet open. Various track and field events were organised during the sports meet. The best athletes from the three colleges were Pardeep Singh, Gulbagh Singh, Satinderpal Singh, Verpal Kaur, Gurpreet Kaur and Yaddeep Kaur. Dr SS Deol, principal, GHG Khalsa College, gave a brief account of the sports and academic achievements of the three institutes. Addressing the gathering, Dr Khush congratulated Manjit Singh Gill, president of the managing committee, for following the footsteps of his father, Bakhtawar Singh Gill, and leading the institutes in the same spirit towards excellence in all the fields. Dr Khush expressed his concern over the extreme corruption in India and appealed to the young generation to vote sensibly and elect good leaders to save the future of the nation. A brief cultural programme, including items of bhangra, malwai giddha and gatka enthralled the audience. The college governing council honoured the gatka team led by S Jaspal Singh and S Vishal Singh with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000.

Students paid rich tributes to martyrs. The assembly concluded with recitation of national anthem. Sweets were also distributed among students and staff.
The National Pharmacy Week was celebrated at GHG Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar. (Ludhiana). The theme for the pharmacy week was 'Pharmacist: A healthcare professional. It was a three day program which concluded on 8th Nov. 2013 followed by a educational tour on 9lh Nov. to Chandigarh. Prof. K. K. Bhutani, Director, NIPLR, Mohali was the chief guest at the occasion. Prof. V. K. Kapoor, Director Research, G.H.G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy, welcomed the Chief Guest and enlightened the audience with importance of pharmacy profession. Mrs. Satvinder Kaur, Principal, G.H.G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy presented the achievements of college in a brief report. The program started by seeking blessings of Almighty God through Shabad and Saraswati vandana. Punjabi as well as western dance were performed at the function. The use and misuse of mobile phones was beautifully presented in a mime. The effect of drug addiction in youth was demonstrated by students in a skit. Various competitions and games like quiz contest, poster making, rangoli, paper reading competition were organized on 6th and 7th November. The winner of these competitions along with the students who excelled during the academic session were awarded during the function, Sachin Goyal, Manpreet Kaur and Jaspreet Kaur adjudged first in poster-making competition. Bipandeep Kaur and Akhil Bharat adjudged first in paper reading competition, Renuka, Ekwinder Kaur, Prabjot Kaur and Jasleen Kaur adjudged first in rangoli competition. Harkomalpreet Singh adjudged first in indoor games competition, Vipanpret Kaur and team adjudged first in Quiz Contest. No function is complete without Punjabi folk dance bhangra, so to conclude the function bhangra was presented by students of college of Pharmacy. Programme ended with a thanks giving speech by Mrs. Anu Mahajan. The stage was coordinated by Dr. Poonam & Mrs. Anuja Chopra.

He elaborated that this is really a day of the students who worked hard and got their degrees. He also congratulated the management and the faculty for being amongst the topmost colleges of the University and for achieving academic excellence.The event was graced by Dr. S.S. A cultural bonanza was arranged by the students of B-PHARM IV Sem students. Flaunting their attires, young girls and boys walked gracefully on the ramp. Vibrancy, colour and jubilation were all pervasive, when the students of G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy , bid adieu to their seniors during a farewell party organised on the college campus.

Dr. Swaranjeet Singh Deol, Principal, Degree College throwing light on the occasion told that 9 teams from different colleges participated in this event with great enthusiasm. 110 students donated blood voluntarily and nearly 350 patients underwent medical check-up by a team of expert doctors from Fortis Hospital Ludhiana. On this occasion a renowned religious personality Baba Sarbjot Singh Bedi paid glowing tributes to S. Bakhtawar Singh Gill and congratulated President, S. Manjit Singh Gill on the tremendous progress made by the colleges. A renowned academician S. Jatinder Singh Sidhu, former member of Board of Directors of University of Fraser Valley, Abbotsford, Canada, also appreciated the efforts being put in the by the management to upgrade the education in Rural Punjab. Prof. Balwinderpal Singh shared that Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle and N.S.S Unit of the college made a special contribution towards making this a successful event. Dr. Neelam & Dr. Devinder Singh from Akal Academy Baru Sahib were also present on the occasion. In the competiton, Khalsa College for Women team stood first with Amarpreet Kaur one of the team members, clinching individual first prize. Second prize was won by Ramgarhia Girls College Ludhiana with Anureet Kaur & Amandeep Kaur winning 2nd & 3rd individual prizes as well. Swami Ganga Giri Janta Girls College Raikot stood third in the competition. Special prizes were awarded to G.H.G. Khalsa College of Education & G.H.G. Khalsa College (Girls). Sardarni Mahinder Kaur Gill, S. Manjit Singh Gill, Sardarni Hareena Gill, S. Hardial Singh Gill, Principal Dr. S.S. Deol, Principal Dr. H.S. Brar, Principal Dr. Satwinder Kaur & Dr. V.K. Kapoor felicitaled the winners, and other participants with trophies and cash prizes. After the programme Guru Ka Langar was also served for the students and people from the surrounding villages. Prinicpal Dr. H.S. Brar presented vote of thanks. A Book exhibition was also organized by Gurmat Pustak Centre on the occasion.
A development program on eye awareness was organised in the college on 11 th Feb 2016. Dr Inderpreet Singh, Phaco and Retina surgeon, Sohana Hospital, Ludhiana gave complete information about proper eye vision and precautions to prevent any damage to the eyes. He also discussed about various disorders associated with eyes like diabetic retinopathy, cataract, glaucoma, myopia, hypermetropia etc.
Annual Athletic Meet of college was conducted on Feb 27. 2016 with full fervor. This Mega event was organized collectively by the three sister institutions, namely G. H.G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Degree College and College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar (Ludhiana). S. Rupinder Singh, Deputy Director (Sports), Chandigarh was the honorable chief guest. S Manjit Singh Gill, President, College Governing Council, S. Hardial Singh Gill and Members of the Management were the other distinguished guests present on the occasion. They were welcomed by Dr Satvinder Kaur, Dr V. K Kapoor, Dr S. S Deol, Dr H. S Brar, S T. B. Singh and members of the staff. Students had participated in various sports events like long jump, discus throw, shortput, races (100m, 200m, 400m), potato race, three legged race, tug of war, sac race and won prizes.Gurkomaljit Singh (B.Pharm-2 nd sem) and Talwinder Singh (B.Pharm-2 nd sem) were adjudged best athletes among boys and Amampreet Kaur (B.Pharm-2 nd sem) was adjudged best athlete among girls. The winners of various events were garlanded with medals.IK Gujral PTU, Jalandhar has organized an inter-college men's cricket tournament in GNE, Ludhiana on Feb 13, 2016. College boys cricket team participated in this and got appreciation.
Students and faculty members of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy also attended and presented posters on scientific reviews and their research works in 2 nd Annual National Convention of Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI). (Punjab State Branch) on Emerging Scenario in Human Research Development For Pharmacy Profession in Government Polytechnic College for Girls, Patiala on March, 18-19, 2016. Girls from various B.Pharmacy semesters performed Rajasthani Dance and won First Prize.Also, Gautam Raj Puri, Student of B.Pharm-4 th Semester won First Prize in Debate in Annual National Convention of Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI).
