G.H.G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar (Ludhiana) was established in 1984 under the aegis of governing Council, G.H.G. Khalsa College. Gurusar Sadhar (Ludhiana), a registered body already running two premier reputed Higher Education Institutions (HIE) in rural Punjab. The college is housed in a magnificent three storeyed building with 42,000 sq. ft. roofed area designed by Sh. H.S. Chopra, Formerly Additional Chief Architect Punjab. The foundation of this building was laid by H' E. Sh V.V Giri, President of India in 1971. This building was primarily meant to accommodate Post Graduate Regional Rural Center.

The college has ultra-modern computer center with four computer labs having networking facilities. The labs have 24 hours Internet connectivity. Totally Wi-Fi campus.
There is a spacious seminar hall with a seating capacity of 100 persons. The college has facility of smart class rooms, L.C.D. Projectors and over Head Projectors. A wide range of educational CD's are available. A separate cell to help and train the teachers to prepare Multimedia/Audio Visual presentations and teaching packages has been set up.
To ensure student's participation in decision making student's welfare council is formed from amongst the college students, it provides a platform for the students to discuss the educational, co-curricular and student welfare activities and share these with the Principal, Dean and Staff.
All the students are divided into a number of groups with a teacher as a tutor for each. This provides an opportunity for the teacher taught close and personal contact. The tutor is expected to know the personal history of his/her wards thoroughly. He should also keep watch on the physical and intellectual welfare of his wards.
It is the prime interest of administration to secure all the students and employees financially. So, group insurance scheme for all students, teaching and non-teaching staff has been implemented.
The students of the college are provided with the facility to bus passes at concessional rates. For this, the students have to prescribed form and get it attested from the tutor. Photographs are required for the bus pass. Passes are issue PEPSU Road Transport Corporation and Punjab Roadways.
INFLIBNET's N-LIST programme enables the library clientele to have access to more than 6000 e-journals and nearly 100000 e-books. This college is a member of British Council Library that enables us to have a wider access to the knowledge.
The needy and meritorious students are issued books from the book bank for the entire academic session on the recommendation of the tutor and with the permission of the Principal.
On the recommendation of the tutor and with the permission of the Principal, regular students of the college can become the members of this library by filling the prescribed form. For this they will have to adhere to the university regulations. The members of this library will be issued university roll numbers at the end of the year, after they clear all the library dues.
Library brings academic ambience in the educational institutions. Library "The Reservoir of Knowledge" has a paradigm shift from document to information. The library building and material inside it, no longer define the concept of academic library in the present scenario. Library is a living organism consisting of library documents, staff, and Premises organized and functioning to collect, conserve and exploit books.
Safety and security of students especially girls is our top-most priority. Keeping this in mind, a fleet of buses is made available for girl students. The facility is available to a student for a minimum period of one year and the fee is payable on half yearly basis.
Ideal separate hostels with ultra-modern facilities both for boys (220 seats) and girls (300 seats) are available on the campus.
The College has setup Career Guidance & Counseling Cell. It guides the students in selection of the courses and subjects at the time of admissions and avenues for further studies. Students are also guided to choose the career and methods to prepare for it. The students are also provided counseling during hardships.

At present the National Cadet Corps is being run in our college. Cadets are trained for parade and various certification examinations. Cadets are also sent to various camps for physical training, weapon training, rock climbing, trekking, river rafting and paragliding etc.

A botanical garden or botanic garden[nb 1] is a garden dedicated to the collection, cultivation and display of a wide range of plants labelled with their botanical names. It may contain specialist plant collections such as cacti and other succulent plants, herb gardens.
Under National Service Scheme a contingent of 200 volunteers both boys and girls have been sanctioned through the Panjab University by the Ministry of Education and Social Welfare, Government of India to provide opportunity to the students to join valuable practical experience in community service through such programmes as eradication of illiteracy, rural reconstruction, national integration, health etc.
The College has Placement Cell which arranges Campus Interviews, Industry Contacts & Business establishment for providing employment to our students. The cell also helps students who need jobs under the earn-while-you-learn scheme.

Women's Day is celebrated globally on 8 March every year in honor of their remarkable contribution to our society. To mark the day a seminar was organized on the theme for this year's Women's Day "DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality" at G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar on 9th March 2023. The theme aims to emphasize the importance of technology in bringing gender issues to light.
Celebration of the day was commenced by the lecture of Dr. Kulbir Kaur (Gyneacologist) PCMS Raikot. She explained the inspiring role of women around the world to secure women's rights. She also emphasized on steps to be taken for women hygiene
Following that Simran Sidhu, student of B. Pharmacy 6th semester presented poetry dedicated to the role of women in society. Miss. Shalini, student of D. Pharmacy First year delivered the speech on the topic that how voices of many women go unheard and continue to be dominated from securing their rights and realizing their full potential. She explained that Woman is the power to create, nurture and transform!
The programme was continued with the very expressive song by Mr. Jatinder Singh, student of B. Pharmacy 6th semester who detailed the importance of women to build a society and their fundamental rights.
Second lecture was delivered by Dietician Deepti Arora from Ludhiana on Nutrition, Diet and Stress Management.
Principal Dr. Satvinder Kaur addressed the audience and high lightened the contribution of women in every phase of life. She also highlighted that today, women across the globe actively participate in politics, education, social work, corporate, sports, IT, research & development, innovation diverse fields, and have left their footprints.

To commemorate the 121 st birth anniversary of Professor Mahadeva Lal Schroff and to recognize
his contribution in establishing Pharmacy Education in India, G.H.G Khalsa College of
Pharmacy, Gurusar Sadhar celebrated the National Pharmacy Education Day on 6 th March 2023.
To mark the event an awareness camp was organized by the students. Students along with
teachers visited Manukhta Di Seva Society at Hassanpur, Ludhiana. The Awareness Camp came
out as a bright opportunity to reach out to general public and Patients at the society. Students
made them aware about the Pharmacy Profession, Role of Pharmacist in Healthcare, Medicare,
Drug Discovery, safe use of Drugs and importance of cleanliness and general hygiene.

National Youth Day is celebrated on 12 January and is also known as Rashtriya Yuva Diwas. The day is observed to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, one of the greatest philosophers and spiritual leaders. Red Ribbon Club of G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar organizes Poster making and Paper reading activity to mark National Youth Week from 13th January to 19th January 2023 for its students. Principal, Dr. Satvinder Kaur spoke on the importance of the day and encouraged them to learn from the life of the great revolutionary and freedom fighter - Swami Vivekanada. 61 st National Pharmacy Week is being celebrated all over India on the Theme : "India : The Pharmacy of world". To create awareness among the general public and the students about the contribution of India as Pharmacy in world, 61 st National Pharmacy week observed on 17-19 th November 2022 at G. H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar. To mark the event various activities like, paper reading contest, Poster making competition and rangoli competition relating to the theme of this year were organized. There was a very active participation by the students on the theme. To observe the month of November as "Month of Prevention of Substance abuse" and to
create awareness among the students against drugs, a seminar was organised at G.H.G Khalsa
College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar on 21 st November 2022 by the students of B. Pharmacy and
D. Pharmacy. The students were made aware about drug addiction, consequences, harmaful
effects on body and brain. Manjot Singh, student of B. Pharm 3 rd year highlightened the different
facts about drug addiction and preventive measures.

Guru Hargobind Khalsa Colleges (Degree, Education and Pharmacy) celebrated the 'Avatar Purab' of the first Patsahi, Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji with great reverence and fanfare like every year. After completion of three days Akhand Path Sahib, Shabad Kirtan was performed by students of the colleges in Nihang Shamsher Singh Hall. On this occasion, Dr. Harpreet Singh ,Principal of Degree College, said that Guru Nanak Sahib had taken us out of the problems but today we are again trapped in them. He further adds that the purpose of celebrating Gurpurab is also that we can avoid these problems by following the path shown by Guru Sahib. While Conducting the entire event, Dr. Sohan Singh said that it is very satisfying that we all are celebrating the incarnation of Guru Nanak Sahib, the common leader of mankind. Mr. Manjit Singh Gill, President, College Governing Counsil, Principals, staff and students of all the three colleges along with the members of the college governing council were also present on this occasion. The theme of this year's celebration is '"Corruption-free India for a Developed Nation"' and the
contest was held at GHG Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar as part of the celebration.
Principal Dr. Satvinder Kaur explained the concept of vigilance to the students and underlined its
importance in the development of the nation.
The objective of the programme was to encourage the stakeholders to support the initiatives in
fighting and preventing corruption besides raising public awareness on the perils of corruption
and spreading awareness among students on establishing a "corruption-free" India.

On the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel 'NATIONAL UNITY DAY' or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was celebrated by the Red Ribbon Club of G.H.G.Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sudhar. To mark the event Elocution and Poster making competition was organized. A documentary film on the life of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was shown to the students. Poster making competition was organized on 15 Oct 2022 for induction program of
1 st semester students. The theme for the same was "Mental Health and Well
Being". Students made posters depicting very thoughtful insights on the theme.
The posters were very informative. One could see and feel the enthusiasm that the
students had in their presentation. This activity was organized to explore and
encourage creativity in students and offer them a platform to showcase their skills.
It inspired them to think and work creatively in order to promote artistic
excellence. Their efforts and initiative was appreciated by one and all. The final

Competition was evaluated by Dr. Parneet Kaur. An awareness campaign was conducted by volunteers of NSS units (Boys and Girls) of Guru Hargobind Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar Ludhiana to prevent the deadly effects of stubble burning. Under this campaign, the volunteers visited about ten villages of the area and interacted with about six hundred farmers, alerting them of the deadly effects of stubble burning and persuade them not to burn stubble in the future. Appreciating this awareness campaign, College Principal Dr. Harpreet Singh said that along with providing education, it is also our responsibility to make people aware about social problems. Environmentalists are predicting an increase in respiratory problems in the future due to stubble burning. In such a situation, this campaign conducted by the NSS units is highly commendable. He further adds that these units operating in the college are continuously conducting such programs. A few days ago, an oath-taking ceremony was held by these units to follow the path of non-violence shown by Mahatma Gandhi and stay away from drugs. On this occasion Prof. Pawanveer Singh, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Prof. Vishavpreet Kaur and Prof. Kanwaljit Kaur were also present.
Guru Hargobind Khalsa Colleges (Degree, Education and Pharmacy) Gurusar Sadhar organized a blood donation camp with the support of NSS unit and MLT department in collaboration with life share (NGO), on 1 st October, 2022. This camp was inaugurated by the principal of the degree college, Dr. Harpreet Singh. Addressing the students, he said that blood donation is called “Mahadana” because it can save the life of another person, while any other kind of donation cannot give a life donation. To encourage students, he further adds that they are doing a great job by donating blood. The staff of’ Life Share Shri Raghunath Hospital Society’ (RG) completed all the procedures of this camp. 31 students donated blood in this camp. On this occasion Dr. Harpreet Singh, Satwinder Kaur, Principal Guru Hargobind Khalsa College of Pharmacy, Prof. Jaswant Singh, Prof. Pawanveer Singh, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Prof. Vishwapreet Kaur, Dr. Mannu Chadha, Dr. Jasleen Kaur, Prof. Rachpal Singh were also present.

drug is a right choice', 'always take the right type of drug at the right time', 'always extend a
helping hand to the HIV affected people' etc marched through the main thoroughfares before
returning back to the starting point.

Screening Checkup Camp on Sep 23, 2022 to celebrate World Pharmacist Day with theme
'Pharmacist United in Action For a Healthier World' which falls on Sep 25, 2022 every year.
A team of 15 doctors from Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Dental College and Hospital
visited the college. They made the students aware regarding dental health and hygiene.
Moreover, thorough checkup of all the students was done. More than 100 students and faculty
members participated in the camp.
Principal Dr. Satvinder Kaur appreciated the students. This camp was concluded with
felicitation of the team of doctors.
Logo and slogan competition was organized on the occasion of "World Pharmacist Day" on 23 rd Sept 2022. The theme of the competition was "Pharmacist United in an action for a Healthier World". More than 30 students participated. In 'logo designing competition' Priya Mishra (B. Pharm. 3 rd Sem.) bagged 1 st position, Karan Goyal (B. Pharm. 3 rd Sem.) stood 2 nd and Minu Prasad (B. Pharm. 3 rd Sem.) was awarded 3 rd prize. In 'Slogan writing competition' Ashish Kumar (D. Pharm. 2 nd year) and Sukhpreet Kaur (B. Pharm. 3 rd Sem.) stood at 1 st position, Harshal and Mehakpreet Kaur (D. Pharm. 2nd year) got 2 nd position and Rupinder Kaur (B. Pharm. 7 th Sem.) bagged 3 rd position. Amisha Kalra (B. Pharm. 7 th Sem.) got consolation prize. Dr. Satvinder Kaur Professor and Principal and Dr. Anu Jindal Professor were the judges. They congratulated the participants for excellent endeavor and motivated them to participate in such competitions in future. Winners were awarded with certificates.
A tree plantation drive was held in the college premises on 23-09-2022 for celebration of World Pharmacist Day. The duel objectives of this drive were to enhance the tree cover on the campus and to sensitize the students towards importance of trees. In this event, students were made to plant a tree each at the designated place. They were given information about the name and type of tree, colour of its flowers, its blooming season and about what are they expected to do to take care of it. A total of 20 saplings were planted in and around the campus such as Burma neem( Melia composita), kaner ( Nerium oleander), chandani (Ervatamia divericata), Tecoma stans, Gulabi tun (Cedrela toona), Ambari ( Hisbiscus variegata) and Shisham ( Dalbergia sissoo). The event was organized by Dr Manpreet Kaur (Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacognosy) and Mrs. Rajwinder Kaur (Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacology).
On the occasion of World pharmacist's Day on 25th September, 2022, the staff members
of G.H.G. Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar has organised "general awareness
program about common diseases" at village Abbuwal, which has been adapted by the college.
Women of the village were apprised about the common diseases and contribution of
pharmacist in uplifting the society. They were apprised of self care and hygeine. They
participated with vigor and enthusiasm in this awareness campaign held by the college. Towards
end, refreshment was given to all the ladies gathered there. The Principal and Professor
Dr. Satvinder Kaur admired all the teachers for their wonderful endeavour and also motivated
them to hold such program even in future. Team from college also thanked and honoured the
village Sarpanch Sardar Harvinder Singh to help us organize the awareness session in the village
Abbuwal.

Our college, G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy has celebrated indepenence day on 13-08-2022. The Day marks the anniversary of national independence from the British Empire on 15th august 1947. Furthermore, it is the most auspicious day for the people of India because India becomes independent after lots of hardships and sacrifices of the brave Indian freedom fighters.

Online workshop on "Intellectual Property Rights: Prospects and career Opportunities", was organized on June 23, 2022 by Entrepreneurship and Placement cell of college. The speaker Sh. Raj Kumar Meena explained about various prospects and career options for students in the field of writing/filing of Intellectual Property Rights.
Farewell Function "SHAM-E-RUKHSAT" for the outgoing was organized at G.H.G Khalsa College of Pharmacy Gurusar Sadhar, on Wednesday (22 nd June 2022) to bid farewell to the outgoing class of B. Pharmacy. In the function various activities like Paper dance, Bhangra, Punjabi dance, Modeling and singing were organized. The title of Miss Farewell and Mr. Farewell went to Sameena and Harmandeep Singh Bedi, respectively. Principal Dr Satvinder Kaur addressed the audience. She enlightened the students with her inspirational words and extended her best wishes to them for their bright future.
